Demons Within Update 5 devlog: it begins!

Hey hey!

Well, here we are again! I hope you all enjoyed Update 4 and your time with Ludwig. Everyone went the SFW route with the bear, right? ;)

Well, as most of you already know, Update 5 will cover the Spare day if you had chosen to spend it with Edwin! Onward to the tavern we go! And what we'll happen there? Who knows...

What we do know, is that unlike Update 4, this one will feature new characters that we'll meet! As they are not exactly main characters, many of you also know that we had a poll in Patreon to determine which species you guys would like to see them as the most!

Well, I have a surprise for you all in that regard!

The poll's winner, which was hyena, won by only 3 votes out of over 200 of them! I was surprised by that fact! Though we had some good contenders, in the end, hyena and boar went to the final days to the poll side by side. There were many times we were sitting at 50/50 between the two and I started to get worried we'd have a tie! In the end, though, hyena pulled through and won, but oh so barely...

Well, I had a talk with Blain. It was always my intention to have more than one character there since, you know, it's a tavern full of people! And Resnick is going to interact with more than one new character. Because of that, I shuffled the art budget around, we scheduled things, and I'm happy to announce...

That we will, in fact, have two new characters in this update now! And since the poll was so close, in order to make all the nice people here that voted for Boar happy just as well... we'll make the new characters out of the two frontrunners of the poll!

So, expect to see a hyena AND a boar in Update 5! ;)

For those that wanted wolverines, leopards, or foxes, worry not! Your chance might still come! In fact, one of these might get their deal in a different way at some point...

Well, other than this new announcement, the actual devlog status is that, things are in a planning phase, as you can see, but progressing well! The story is just at its starting point writing-wise, but the art is actually a little ahead this time! Tier 2+ patrons can probably expect to start seeing previews of the new stuff by next week! To everyone else, I'll make sure to keep you all updated with all the new bits and info as we progress through Edwin's day until it becomes a reality!

It's gonna be hecking awesome. ;)

More about the new characters in their previews and in the future devlogs! I'll try to tell you all more about the update as it gets completed as well, but for now, this will have to do! This is long enough as it is. :P
