Demons Within Update 10 devlog: Going and near the end!

Hey hey!

Phew! It's been a while! It's been a hecking busy few months, both in the project and for personal reasons, so I feel like I haven't written as many devlogs as I should between updates 9 and 10. I apologize for that! I'll try to be better about it from now on. :)

At the very least, I feel like I can bring good news. Update 10's writing has been finished and reviewed and the coding is already happening. We have a whopping 16.000 words of text this time and, even though a bunch of it covers different possibilities between all the branching from infusing we'll have this time, it's still a bunch more than usual! It'll take a little while to code all of that, but I'm working hard on it as we speak. :)

As a reminder, Update 10 will feature a camping day involving all recruits from unit 57-H and Russel. We'll have a beautifully crafted CG that Blain has worked on, a lot of shenanigans, a whole bunch of new memories to see and unlock, and a few other minor quality of life improvements in the game, as usual!

Amidst all of this, I'm also finally working on branching Demons Within to other languages. This is something that has been heavily requested among a bunch of different languages but it's not something I take lightly. If I'm going to translate the game to another language, I want it to be a good translation that properly transfers the feeling of the story to the new language.

I'm working with a new collaborator to, hopefully, release what I hope will be just the first of many possible language options for the game. The first one, releasing around the time Update 10 goes out, I think, will be to Russian. I'll make the translation available here in my own Patreon as well for those that want to play the game in Russian and have the full experience. Of course, the game won't be entirely translated from the get-go. We'll release new updates one by one as the translator is able to work on them to ensure its quality. It is my hope, however, that everything I'm figuring out for the Russian version of the game will help cement the path to branch out to other languages soon enough as well (I have to find translator too, though!). The next language I'd really like to tackle is Chinese, as I know there are a lot of people out there that would love to try out the game but are barred from how different our language is. I haven't been able to find someone to translate between english and chinese yet, though, but we'll see!

I know that this news doesn't really affect everyone, but bear with me. :) As some of you have seen, we also have the... technically second, but first bigger one... piece of original music coming to the game as well! We'll hear it in the new update and I plan on updating some previous parts to include it too as I really love it. I hope you will too!

Okay, that's a lot of random stuff. As I said, it's been busy! But, I know what you all really wanna know. Update 10 when? Well, I'm working hard on coding. I'll announce the dates once I'm closer and more confident, as usual, but I'll say that right now I'm shooting for a beta version for higher patrons by the end of next week. I hope I can manage! As most of you know, that would mean that the full Patreon version would be following soon after. ;)
