Lands of Agon Series: Introduction Post

Greetings Fellow Travelers, 

It is I, the wondrous cartographer of the Dweorh Empire; Regengar the Inkfeed. Today on this fine morn I greet you with tidings, gifts, and most importantly a task fit for a brave exploration party as ye'selves.

As you may know, the might of the Dweorh (Pronounced: Da-wae-or) has reached such feats that our vast underground empire has ran out of living space. 

It is time for you to gather your most inquisitive and courageous explorers to venture above into lands unknown to us in Agon and settle new colonies for the Dweorh Empire.

I have heard the land is filled with the ruins of your fallen Kingdom. Ignore such petty distractions and find the Dweorh more room to expand!

Do not threat my friends, for I have had my assistant Conrar Chibs draw up a preliminary survey of the surrounding area of Agon. Study it well, for in the coming days ye'all will need to vote on your first expedition!

So What is This?

Basically, think of this series like a choose-your-own adventure book. But instead of picking which page to turn to next, patrons will be deciding where to explore next. Exploration will be done via patron votes. I will put up choices with a little backstory for each and the choice with the most votes will be created for the following week.

What Sort of Things Will Patrons Be Voting on?

• Locations - Maps of various places in the Lands of Agon (The region map will be updated with icons of these locations; by the end we will have a map filled with interesting locations as well as a awesome little legend filled with icons and text).
• Culture - Handouts (a5/a4 in size) will be created filled with lore to use in your games. This could also mean additional artwork if I have the time.
• Material Culture - Items, Artifacts, Relics and all kinds of goodies can be uncovered. Accompanied by rules.
• Decisions/Actions - There will be moments where patrons will have to make certain decisions. This will drastically alter the map and possibly the setting narrative as time moves on.

Why the Story?
Unlike my other maps/projects I wanted to approach this one as if I was a DM and you, the Patrons, the players! This means I will try and build a narrative for you to follow. Reoccurring characters like Regengar the Inkfeed and Conrar Chibs may make several appearances. Just for a little bit of fun.

Contribution

As this series develops, Patrons will have the opportunity to help shape the story, locations and maps. Each tier of Chibbin Grove patron will have ample opportunity to help steer the direction of this series. (More on this later)

The End Game

My goal for this series is to create a collection of maps to coincide with the region map you see above. Hopefully by the end of this series we will have a nicely fleshed out setting to use in our games!

A VTT variant of the final region map of the setting will be released for free.
