WIP: Chibbin Noble Suggestion Map (Free Map 70)

Hey Folks,

Below you will see some work in progress screenshots for Map 70.

A suggestion made by oceanicsurvivor asked for;

"...a desert based stone quarry. With piles of reddish cut stone acting as cover, and haphazard scaffolding winding its way up one side of the quarry"

This time round I wanted to try and tackle a map from a different angle. With Map 70 I want to play with the idea of a map being a build up of layers.

Starting with the quarry I will then move onto adding the stone cuttings for cover and finally finish with a layer for the scaffolding.

This means I want to draw and finish a layer before I begin a new stage, in hopes of building up character for the map and also creating variants 3 at the same time!

To begin I started with a simple line layer of the basic stone terrain.

Afterwards, I created several layers of various colours and shades. Building up layer by layer the tone of the stone.

Currently I am working on building up some smaller line details around the current colour layer. I will be using the thickness of line to try and add a little texture to the map, and also begin filling in the vast empty space.

(Once I move onto creating the scaffolding a lot of the extra details I am adding here will be lost, though some will make it through, which will hopefully add in a little more depth to the map).
