Licensed therapist Jonathan Decker, filmmaker Alan Seawright, and guest Shona Kay are diving into the world of Christmas romance movies. They’re ranking the healthiness of Christmas romances spanning across the decades: Richard and Amber from A Christmas Prince, Sawyer and Landon from A Fiancé for Christmas, Abby and Harper from Happiest Season, Kate and Tom from Last Christmas, Bob and Betty from White Christmas, and Amanda and Graham and Iris and Miles from The Holiday. They look out for healthy relationship signs and the bad ones, all while enjoying the cheesiness of the genre. There’s some arguments about which movies they liked, and they get distracted by all the pretty people.

Question for Alan on White Christmas - Do you cringe during the dance scenes when Vera stares into the camera or am I alone in this? 😳 I have to fast forward the first dance in Florida EVERY time.

For example a couple, which is healthy and there is a job offer for a higher postion. but there are a few other contestants (like a shark tank) and they are playing all the cards to demoralise or beat their other contestances. And that takes it tall on the realation ship. And then the couple needs to overcome and talk and listen so in the porcess their relationship isn't destroyed. Well maybe there is a movie like that, if anyone knows suh a movie do tell!

Over the years we developed an amazing friendship as well. Over a decade later we have an unshakeable friendship and still have epic sex. Granted we aren't in a commitment relationship. I think because we both have massive commitment issues, but that works well when you both have it. Theres no jealousy, we both have been in committed relationships with other people and we are just happy the other person is happy and move into a normal no sex friendship. And we are there for eachother in trying to make whatever is important to the other work, while also with the fact that we have no say in the others choices. I know it not common, and I honestly find different types of relationships fascinating. I can talk about it forever so I'm gonna stop now lol

2022-12-13 00:39:32 +0000 UTCI'm the next person in line after Shona to box Alan over the "The Holiday"! 😉 The point of Jude Law and Carmon Diaz (Amanda and Graham) is that it is supposed to be the "typical" romcom- she writes trailers for movies! He doesn't tell her about his daughters and is also in it for a quick fling. So they start out in the same place. My favorite part of the movie is the relationship with Arthur that both Iris and Miles build, and which also builds their relationship.
