Added 2023-03-07 15:05:43 +0000 UTCHi Superheroes! At the Superhero tier, you get access to a monthly livestream, with Alan and Jono alternating hosting each month. We've seen consistent low attendance for the livestreams, so we're looking to change things up. We want to give y'all, our most dedicated Patrons, something that you will enjoy and engage in. Basically, we want to offer something that gives you more interaction and access with us. Please fill out this poll, and please share your ideas and feedback in the comments on this post. I’ve been wanting to attend a livestream since I joined but I keep missing them! I wonder if it would be helpful to do a poll before hand of suggested times and dates and people can vote for what would work best for them? Regardless, I am hoping to be able to attend a livestream someday soon!

I wanted to watch Alan's Oscar rant in the evening but it slipped my mind because pretty much just work has been on my mind lately. I understand that Saturdays dig into your personal time. But that or during the week in the late afternoon or evenings works best for me personally.

2023-03-09 17:43:38 +0000 UTCIts the time difference that makes it difficult for us. We definitely try and join when we can but if the time zone difference is after 3am it's hard to stay awake >.< or wake up. Maybe if there were some evening MST events to balance out that would really help ^^

2023-03-08 00:28:21 +0000 UTCMy issue with the live streams is that I have two very young kids.Trying to do anything focused for more than five minutes is difficult unless they are both napping at the same time, at the right time. Maybe you could have people ask questions ahead of time and answer them in the live stream while talking to people live as well. Or you could prerecord something 🤷🏼♀️

I know I’ve missed a couple that I had every intention of attending. The ones I got to were bc I put them in my personal calendar w notifications. Even with a ping a bit beforehand, many ppl have to plan around things at least a day or so ahead. (not all, but many) Well… I guess what II mean is that the ppl who do would be more able to do so. Or more likely. I come look at each Patreon announcement. And I wanna be at events. And intend to be. If I don’t put the date/time in a calendar right when I come look, that date just evaporates into the ether. Obv a me problem. … But one that I’m not alone with.

2023-03-07 21:03:49 +0000 UTCYes, they are! In the same post as the livestream announcement, the top part is a link/video preview. Just click it and it will open the video. It will work before (with a countdown) and after (as a playback) the event has happened.

I may just be tech clueless, but I mostly feel like I get notifications from Patreon that a livestream is going to happen, and not that a previously recorded livestream is now available to watch. It may be they don't do a second notification, but if so it never clicks in my brain during the work day that, "oh, yeah, go back and watch this later."

Every other one has been during the day on a weekday and while I love you guys, I have to put food on the table and actually be at work working when most of these are streamed. So something either later on the evening or on a weekend or something would be good. Just my two cents.

2023-03-07 16:27:36 +0000 UTCHaha I got the creative ball rolling I guess 😂 I subscribe to Trae Crowder (comedian) on Patreon and he does a Q&A video every couple weeks where he has a thread for one of the higher Patron tiers to ask questions, and he goes through them in a pre-recorded video he releases a few days later. That could work to give a bit of that livestream feel for those who can't make it. It certainly doesn't have to be several a month though -- his content is more off-the-cuff than this channel so I could see that being a lot to produce.

2023-03-07 16:25:09 +0000 UTCAs I already said, I'm happy with the tier anyway so take that into consideration; especially with TV being off-brand, it wouldn't bother me in the slightest if it were in a Zoom-type format, if that makes it easier with the distance and filming/editing schedule.

Even if it's the right time, [here is where I would say 'I'm just really busy' but that's not entirely true. It's ADHD-anti-scheduling/introvert/overwhelm/forgot something-or-other] I don't make it. Actually, sometimes it's that I haven't seen the movie -- so that's a barrier. Ok now I have a suggestion -- what if Superheroes got TV show discussions and content? There could be a livestream to premier it for those who love and can make it to a livestream, and for those who can't, there's the episode. And since TV is not the focus for the channel, there are suggestions for content from Superheroes as an added extra. I'm in this tier for the deep dives and courses so I'm pretty happy with what I'm getting, for what it's worth.

2023-03-07 15:17:11 +0000 UTCI think the main issue for me with the current livestream is the time, as it falls in the middle of the afternoon (and thus the workday) for me. But I'm sure no matter what time you do it at it will be inconvenient for somebody. What about doing a Q&A type thing, where a few days before, y'all request questions related to the particular video in a Patreon post, and then record yourselves answering some of them?
