DIRECTOR'S CUT: Psychology of a Hero: BLACK WIDOW

Can someone actually get red out of their ledger? Can they repair their wrongs and find healing?

Licensed therapist Jonathan Decker and filmmaker Alan Seawright talk about Natasha Romanoff's (Black Widow's) journey to try to get red out of her ledger, as she moves from assassin to hero to healer. They discuss how we can each right some of the wrongs in our lives and make changes and amends. For Natasha it included becoming an Avenger, dedicating her life to helping people (like freeing the other widows, including her sister Yelena played absolutely brilliantly by Florence Pugh), and eventually finding peace with herself and giving her life. Thanks for making Alan cry again, ScarJo. And for giving him an opportunity to go toe-to-toe with David Harbour to compare their Russian accents and beards.

My favorite with Scarlett Johansson is still The Horse Whisperer. That scene with her and Robert Redford in the kitchen. :(

I know this is a Natasha episode but I have such a ridiculous crush on Florence. Like-I’m a happily married, straight woman but if she appeared and asked me to run away with her, I would. Hahaha! Yelena is probably my favourite (newer) MCU character.

Midsomer is so dark. Don’t worry darling was good in its own way. Olivia Wilde has an interesting way of doing things - of course you have to slog through Harry stiles - but overall it was very thought provoking- maybe not as deep as matrix but similar at least in scope.

Don’t worry darling has Pugh in an interesting role.

The first thing I ever saw Florence Pugh in was the miniseries The Little Drummer Girl with Alexander Skarsgard ... and Michael Shannon. (Anything with Michael Shannon is great, right?) That's when I started looking for her work.

I've heard great things about Fighting. Can't wait to check it out!

If you love Florence Pugh, you HAVE TO see her in Fighting With My Family. I won’t be seeing Midsommer, it sounds gross.
