DIRECTOR'S CUT: ARCANE's Vi and Jinx: Grief, Guilt, and Psychosis

How do you handle the people love you changing? How do you deal with loss of loved ones?

Licensed therapist Jonathan Decker and filmmaker Alan Seawright take a look at the relationship between sisters Vi and Powder/Jinx in Arcane League of Legends to talk about loss, trauma, grief, guilt, psychosis, anger, and a whole lots more. There's a LOT to unpack with these characters and this relationship! They talk about Powder's journey to becoming Jinx, Vi's journey of trying to protect her sister and facing the reality of who her sister has become, the incredible Art Deco/art nouveau world and the stunning animation style of this series.

Made my friend watch Arcane recently so we could watch season 2 together, and then had to rewatch this again. Man, I can't wait for season 2 and I NEED more Cinema Therapy on it, either about characters spanning both seasons or just season 2 specific, I don't care, just give me more!

Lightning Dragon Master

Yeah they have said they like to wait for the arc of a character to be fully finished before they do an episode on them

It's likely either they got busy with other work or because when season 2 was announced the creators mentioned they would explore Silco and Vander's relationship more retrospectively. And that extra information could in theory change the perspective of Silco much like Season 3 of Avatar the Last Airbended really changed the perspective of Zuko.

Just curious CT team, why did the Silco episode never manifest?
