They talk about Lewis seeking adoption and struggling to be accepted. Jonathan explains the anxiety and desperation of seeking acceptance, and they all talk about the importance of being yourself to truly belong. And Bryson takes the therapy wheel and impresses us all!

Finally watching this episode. 2 things: 1) This whole episode I was like “Man, this kid could be my doppelgänger.” So, what an honor for him to shout me out! 😂 2) The story behind my tag name. My friends and I often joke about my strong self-confidence. One day we took a personality quiz. One of the questions asked for you to visualize a cube. While my friends pictured hand-held bland colored cubes…I pictured a 10 foot x 10 foot big giant red one. Turns out, the cube you visualized was supposed to represent your ego. And thus the name stuck.

(I keep telling the kids that we should have a series of movies nights where we watch their childhood favorite movies. This would be one of his. 🥹). We still quote this movie at times. “Bowler hat guy!” “Excellent! ‘Excellent.’ Are you just repeating what I’m saying? ‘Uh… No” And “why aren’t you seizing the boy?!?” “I have a big head, and little arms! I’m just not sure how well this plan was thought through….Master?” But in seriousness, after a series of family hardships and traumatic experiences, my motto has been “keep moving forward.” I’ve told my kids “we don’t say ‘move on’ instead say ‘move forward.” I took that lesson from this movie. 💞

I also loved seeing Bryson, I will definitely check out your animation. Bryson is absolutely right about the education of Social Emotional Learning. I am the music teacher at an elementary school and we have as one of our other specials classes, Social Emotional Learning (SEL). My colleague teaches students how to cope with emotions and disappointment. I have said I know many adults who could benefit from her class. I think it is one of the best choices the school made.

While I agree that the animation hasn’t held up, lol, the story does. I myself was adopted, as well as two of my siblings, so this feeling of not fitting in or not belonging hits HARD. I’m the only theatre nerd, I love art and writing and Disney movies and glitter…..the rest of my family is well-nurses and sports nerds. 🤣 Also I LOVE the animations Bryson added to this episode. Haha. Can he animate all the rest of the episodes from now on? Lol

Yes, it could be so much better buy it'd a quirky film script already, and the script doesn't feel as sophisticated as Ratatouille. So I appreciated the differing film styles here.

But saying everyone hated him when that clearly wasn’t the case, I wouldn’t call that an accountability issue, more like he was trapped in his own way of thinking.
