They discuss themes such as love languages, problem solving, and loyalty. Look out for our honorable mentions and tell us your favorite movie marriages in the comments below!

Inge and Olaf in Sweet Land. I realize they aren't married throughout the telling of their story, but it's not for lack of trying. When it came harvest time in the film, I remember thinking, this is real love. (Of course, this comes from a Kansas girl.)

Melissa

The couples from RED!

Timothy Edingfield

I’m genuinely impressed with Alan’s impersonation 😝 Please do a cosplay!

Donut_Worry

I’m just here to further support team #pausedfortheeditorsnote and pledge my undying loyalty to the cause that is bringing back The Mummy with the original cast members. When I watched the first couples video I was yelling “Rick and Evie” by the end, because they’re up there with Morticia and Gomez as supreme couples goals.

Jimmy Danielle

I fully support their plea.

Jimmy Danielle

I am so excited despite the missed opportunity to say “What? Who told you?!”

Jimmy Danielle

Unsure if it's a hot take but I would love an episode on Hank Pym and Janet Van Dyne. Specifically from Quantumania which admittedly isn't perfect but I think their relationship while not a highlight is adorable and I love it

zachary slatton

Our couple’s goals are Ryan Reynolds and Blake Lively🥹

Sam & Erica

Omg yay!!!!! I’m so excited to see the episode! I love Easy A ❤️

Asylum Wolf

Funny you should ask... we just shot an episode on it!

Cinema Therapy

Have you ever seen the movie “Easy A”? The marriage in that movie is GOLDEN.

Asylum Wolf

What a great episode, so heart warming. Thank you guys!

Marie-Soleil Cha

I will keep saying it until they're included in one of these or get their own episode: Tom and Maddie Wachowski from the Sonic movies! (Bonus points for James Marsden! XD)

Not_a_Simple_Hobbit

Yep, I wonder how this affects the YT stats!? Pausing prongs the watch time? 🤔

Jan Sapper

The 101 Dalmatians animation style is beautiful! As a kid I also watched it like daily including the intro song and the animation it goes with. I thought it was absolutely perfect. Walt Disney HATED that movie and it's animation style. He thought it was sloppy (and it looks that way compared to for example Cinderella) and that the lines and coloring were horrible. Here's a video on the story of that, I hope some of you understand spanish... haha: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-QTxBIJxeQs

Kate Ackerley

I’m sorry that happened to you, but I’m glad you’ve learned something that will hopefully be valuable in your next relationship! It gets better. -alan

There's no global award for Editor's Notes...and I now realize that's a mistake.

Tim Durning

#rickandevieforlife And I thoroughly agree with the editors note!!

Jennifer Redmond

I just want to stop by to agree wholeheartedly with the brief editor's note. But also, I love that you guys highlight healthy relationships, too. It's wonderful to see the good as well as the not so good.

SeaSaltChips

Jonathan and Alan, thank you so much for doing these. Your videos have helped me see more into the meaning anof movies and relationships, but also helped me in my own life. I just got out of a pretty painful relationship in which my partner said constantly near the end of our relationship “you have been with me long enough you should know what I need.” I didn’t realize until after the relationship that this was incredible damaging to me and caused me so much more stress and pain. I knew things were wrong and I would try in my own ways to better the situation. Then being told what I was doing wasn’t helping or incorrect it just ate me up inside. I’m happy you brought this up in the video today because I should have known sooner that this was manipulative and ultimately just ended up hurting both of us. Again thank you for mentioning this because I know now that everything changes even hourly of goals and needs of someone, and having a clear line of communication will always lead to a better relationship than assuming your partners needs or wants.

Andrew Kershaw

Love a film that can get Jono to tear up <3 <3 <3

Magnus Taliesin

THE EDITOR'S NOTE!!!!! agreed.

Jilliannnnnnn

Alan doubly needs to cosplay Fergus because I cosplay/play Merida for work, and I could double down on the Internet Dad mojo 🤣

Smidge

I am with the editor for this one. I have adored Brendan Fraser since Encino Man.

Angelina

I KNEW IT! I love David and Sophie. I feel like I would get along with them irl. Not that I wouldn't with my internet dads, but their chaotic energy fuels me

Holly✌️

My cat and I definitely have a love language. Hugs are often required. As for whimsy in war. Absolutely! Maybe it's gallows humor, but having a moment to break the tension when you're out there... We'd be cancelled in no time back home, but some of the funniest things I've ever seen, and some of the dirtiest, foulest, and inappropriate humor was with my fellow troops. Send it!

David Muench

It was very much David. I cannot keep up with his... eloquence. -Alan

If y’all aren’t completely sick of me extolling the virtues of Into and Across the Spiderverse yet, Jeff and Rio have an incredibly healthy marriage. Both have high-stress jobs as as a nurse and cop, but we never see them take out their job-related stress on each other or Miles. They obviously care a great deal about each other and their son, and Miles knows this because he tells another Spider-Man that even though they fought before he left, he knows they just want what is best for him. Jeff says to Rio as he’s having to leave the guidance counselor’s office to go see about a disturbance from his radio that they will figure this thing (talking with Miles about college) together, and later they do, albeit without Miles there because SPOILERS! You might say the same about Peter and MJ in Across just from the one scene they have together since Peter’s kind of having a little identity conflict as a dad, and MJ supports and bolsters him.

Jack black taught me - stalactite, hold on tight, stalagmite, might poke you in the ass... thank you tenacious D

Bec B

That wall o' text begging for another Brendan Fraser Mummy movie was worth testing my reflexes to hit pause at the right time. Not a geologist, but the way I remember the difference between stalagmites and stalagtites is that the letter "m" looks like it is growing from the ground and the letter "t" looks like it is growing from the ceiling. Also, yes, I want to hear the senator story, too. Please and thank you.

Terra the Lioness

When I was a kid I went to mammoth cave and they taught me a mnemonic for stalactites and stalagmites, a stalactite is holding tight to the ceiling and a stalagmite thinks it might be able to reach up to the ceiling!

Stefan and Erin S

Agreed! C’mon Alan, don’t tease!

Wayward Ace

I would also like to nominate Tony Stark and Pepper Potts for good married couple... though I'm not sure I can watch clips from Endgame without sobbing, lol.

Abigail Friedman

Omg, the editor's note, totally paused and read that, and ABSOLUTELY AGREE!

Kathleen O'Sullivan-Cook

ME TOO! I want the story of Alan being hero material and standing up to a senator!

Victor G. of Myth And Magic Artisans

Fun mnemonic: stalaCtites are on the Ceiling; stalaGmites are on the Ground. So anything falling from above is a stalactite!

Abigail Friedman

SAME

Holly✌️

Who wrote the "brief editors note"? I feel like it was David, but Alan does surprise me some times with his hardcore fan boy.

Holly✌️

Can’t wait to watch later but guys, I’d like to humbly request at least one video on Stepmom, starring Julia Robert’s and Susan Sarandon. Not only about navigating new families and marriages, but the women bonding later, and confronting death.

Lauren Wagstaff

I want the Senator story, too. Also, my cat lets me hug her. but we have a respect relationship and she is also my therapy animal. She helps me control many of my minor panic attacks. and Alan, that voice at the end... wow laughed so hard.

sara perkins

Not a geologist, but the way I learned it: Ceiling tight, ground might Stalactites come from the ceiling, stalagmites come from the ground. Hope that helps! ☺️

Tiana Horsey-Daydreamer

I agree with Birdwell on the senator story. 🤭 Also that editor note on The Mummy, was intense...

Em Bee

Wow... there was a LOT to unpack in that 'brief' editors note :D

Richard Mead

I WANT THE SENATOR STORY
