That's a Wrap: November 2024

Here's a recap of what we did last month!

Last month was bananas. So you get a gigantic recap!

November began with the shoot for Cinema Therapy Studios' first short film, CyranØ. The shoot went extraordinarily well, though we had to shoot nights... so it was exhausting. But fun! Now we're in post-production and seeing it come together in the edit. We still have a lot of work to do with Visual FX, sound, color, and music, but we've got great footage to work with, so hopefully we won't screw it up! Hoping to be finished by the end of January!

Only a few days after that, Alan traveled to Cupertino with Brad (director of photography), Trevor (lead editor), and Corinne (producer) from the CT team. They attended the Final Cut Pro Creative Summit, which is the software we use to edit Cinema Therapy. The team presented on how they use Final Cut (and other tools) in post-production, and they told the story of how the team and channel formed. Fellow attendees gave us a lot of praise, so we think that means we did a good job?

From there, Alan, Trevor, and Corinne road tripped from Cupertino to Las Vegas, with a stop in Tehachapi. Ever heard of it? Neither have we. Just an overnight pitstop with an electric car charger. The road trip was a ton of fun, and then we had more fun at the live show in Vegas! It was our first test of what it would be like to take Cinema Therapy on the road, and it went pretty well. We learned a lot. It's likely we'll do another live show early next year, so watch this space!

After the Vegas live show, we road tripped back to Utah for the final CT shoot of the year. But first, we had a company holiday party! It was very relaxed given the month we've all had, but everyone from the team (minus a few we very much missed) traveled to gather and celebrate the team? The year? The holidays? All the things!

Because the November shoot was preceded by so many events, we had to finish prepping earlier than usual. Which meant cramming prep. But it got done, and we shot fewer episodes knowing how busy we'd be, so it ended up going really well. Some exciting guests joined us (virtually), which you'll get to see early next year.

Somehow, we managed to get to the theater and watch new movies for Cinema Therapy Reviews. We reviewed Music by John WilliamsHeretic, Wicked, Gladiator II, and Moana 2. What a month for movies!!

We just celebrated Thanksgiving and had a few days off, and hoo boy did we need that. Given the month we had, it was nice to relax and spend time with our loved ones.

Here's a sneak peek of what's coming next!

Well... we don't want to do anything in December. We're only planning to keep up with our usual content schedule. So we'll prep for the first CT shoot of 2025 (wow!) and keep watching new movies for CT Reviews. December should be a good movie month! What are you most looking forward to seeing at the theater?

We're taking time off around the holidays, though you're still getting videos from us. Our Christmas gift to you!

How was your month? What are you looking forward to next month?

Ah, Tehachapi it’s been a long time since I’ve been out there. It’s gotten bigger in the last 10 years! I’m a bit of a “women in aviation” nerd and the “Pancho” Barnses’ Happy Bottom Riding Club was close to there! As is Edwards AFB. Lots of aviation history there! (sorry if this is a double post, I tried earlier but didn’t see it show up)

Vegas was so fun, here's hoping we can all make it to the next CT live show 🤞🏽😍

Can’t wait for all the upcoming stuff 😁

Jennifer

Hehe, glad I took the gamble 🎰 on going to Vegas with my girlies! Stumbling onto the famous Area 51 pit stop was definitely a highlight! Along with all of our other nerdy shenanigans, obviously. 👉👉

Hehe, I -have- heard of Tehachapi; my aunt used to live near there! 🤭 Like everyone else I'm very intrigued by War of the Rohirrim; I do worry that LOTR is going to get a similar overreach to Star Wars, but we'll have to see. Winter is a huge time for trauma surgery, so I'm just hoping not to go too bonkers at work. 😵‍💫 We have a nice FriendsMas shindig to look forward to, so that'll be nifty! Now for the eternal quandary of a foodie... what the heck am I gonna cook for it?! 🥰

Smidge

Definitely can’t wait for Sonic the Hedgehog 3 this month! Keanu Reeves is gonna kill it as Shadow!

Tyler Higgins

I’m looking forward to Sonic 3 and LOTR War of the Rohirrim, still debating on seeing Mufasa, and I’m sure Kraven will be bad which means I’m excited for it. Can’t wait to see the episodes we get the rest of the year!

Andrew Feistner

Went with the fam to see Red One over Thanksgiving. It was a really fun popcorn, holiday flick. Tho J.K. Simmons was criminally underused. Really wanting to see LOTR: War of the Rohirrim next. Hope you can do a review on that one as well! (Love the non-spoiler format, btw, with the spoilers stuffs at the end.) Thankful for the entire CT crew. 🥰

Do as little as possible for the rest of the year! You guys have all earned so much rest, and we're all grateful for all the work you guys have done and continue to do. Going to Vegas with Smidge and Bryt to see you all in Vegas was definitely the highlight of November. Would absolutely do it all over again ❤️. As far as the rest of this year, I'm looking to enjoy life as best as possible in peace. It won't happen, of course, since I have some significant personal life changes coming. Even still, I'll do my best to do it all with a smile! Wind and Truth drops this Friday, too, so that'll consume me until I finish it. Aiming to read it all in three days 🤓. Keep kicking ass, you guys. Cannot wait to enjoy all the things, and will definitely keep an eye out for another tour.

Yall are so cool. Literally the best jobs ever. I bet family gatherings with you guys are sooooo much fun! I’m gonna be watching Finding Mr Christmas and the new Hallmark movie he stars in (um for ironic reasons totally). And maybe some other hallmark movies. I wonder why the demographic for hallmark movies works, even though it’s the same plot every time?? Is it always just for middle aged women to watch wine and escape to? lol. Love yall 🫶🍿🎥🎬
