Here's a recap of what we did last month!
August had us focused on watching movies and prepping episodes for the September shoot. That shoot is always special because we have the shoot and FanX in the same week! Hereβs an emoji hint for one of the episodes we're prepping: π π
We announced a big change to our CT Studios short film plans. You can watch the update here, but the short version is that Ashes to Ashes is being delayed until next year, and we're making one of the other ideas from the poll you all voted on instead. You're getting two short films!
About this year's short film, CyranΓ (titled MeetU in the poll). It's a story about two people finding love using an AI-powered dating app that "optimizes" interactions with romantic interests. Near the end of August, Alan and Megan completed the first draft and presented it to the Studio Executive Patrons.
We've been planning some live events, and we finally locked down plans for an event in November. Stay tuned for details!
Have you noticed the changes around here? Your support allowed us to transform our Patreon into a studio so we updated our tiers and designs to reflect that. You can read all about the rebrand here! What do you think?
Here's a sneak peek of what's coming next!
September kicks off with a much needed long weekend (Labor Day) in the US. Are you doing anything fun this weekend?
The September shoot will only be a couple weeks away, so we will finalize prep for that and the FanX live event. Yes, we will be at FanX SLC - we attend every year! Unfortunately, we aren't allowed to share our panel details until their schedule is live. Hopefully soon! Good news is we are doing not one but two panels this year, the usual CT live episode and a panel with our friends from the It Was a Sh*t Show podcast (less family friendly but loads of fun). Keep an eye on our social media for panel announcements.
Pre-production on CyranΓ will continue. Studio Execs, look out for livestreams on the calendar as we get deeper into planning and prep.
Another project we'll be prepping is something we teased back in February's That's a Wrap. Cinema Therapy Reviews. We've been playing with the idea of launching a new channel for short movie reviews fresh out of the theater, featuring our filmmaking and therapy takes. We're finally ready to put the project in motion, especially with holiday movie season around the corner.
The biggest discount on Patreon annual membership comes around every September (the anniversary of launching our Patreon!) so for free members or Patrons considering a tier upgrade, this will be the biggest bang for your buck.
How was your month? What are you looking forward to next month?
