That's a Wrap: September 2024

Here's a recap of what we did last month!

We launched Cinema Therapy Reviews! What do you think of our new channel? So far we've reviewed Beetlejuice Beetlejuice, Speak No Evil, Transformers One, and The Wild Robot. We're looking forward to reviewing more new movies, especially as we get into holiday movie season! What would you like us to review?

The September shoot and FanX week was overwhelming and fun, as it always is. If you came to our panel or saw us at FanX, THANK YOU! Our community is really something special, and it's wonderful to meet you in person. If you're at the Stunt Coordinator tier or above, look out for the recording of our FanX panel, Movie Family Therapy: Denethor and Sons from The Lord of the Rings, coming this week!

During a livestream on set, we soft announced a Cinema Therapy live event happening in November in Las Vegas! We will be announcing details very soon.

We just had our Patreon annual membership discount, so if there are any new folks here, hi! Thanks for becoming a Patron!

Here's a sneak peek of what's coming next!

Pre-production for this year's short film, CyranØ, is in full swing. Meetings are ongoing with the DP (director of photography) and producer to finalize crew, locations, and budget. And casting should be starting soon!

Prep will begin for our final shoot of the year. We're prepping fewer episodes than usual because we're ahead of schedule, but mostly because we're tired!

How was your month? What are you looking forward to next month?

September has always been one of my favorite months but it's a little more special this year because I am now an Auntie to my beautiful niece!!!! What am I looking forward to next month? Halloween!! Muahaha!

Looking forward to everything you might have coming up. I discovered you all only two months ago but got on as a patron because this is one of the best things I've ever watched. I love film, I'm in therapy, and I'm a writer. You guys spot out things I kind of grok onto but don't fully absorb. I love you guys so much. I would love to see an opinion about Steven universe.... My 6 year old daughter introduced me to it and I need to rethink how I parent her because she connects so fully.

Looking forward to your Halloween video choice, as well as the upcoming LGBTQIA+ romcoms! Some holiday movie suggestions: "The Shop Around the Corner" (1940) vs. "You've Got Mail" - which has healthier relationships? As well as "Arthur Christmas," "Tokyo Godfathers," "Bachelor Mother" (1939), and "Trading Places." I love Eddie Murphy's story in "Trading Places" but don't think that Dan Aykroyd's character has any character growth or changes for the better. Though I suppose you could argue he was too depressed over losing everything and being gaslit to really do anything

I had a wonderful September. Saw some great movies and TV series, and read some great books. I also got to do another revision of my novel, and prepared the next Story-Power episodes, all while also goofing off and watching some of your videos. I'm retired, so some of the animated and kid videos aren't for me, but I love your banter on the ones I do watch. You have inspired me to start a YouTube channel of my own with my sister where we talk about the significance of classic movies. Classic movies are any movie that's 20 years or older. Keep up the great work!

I’m interested in auditioning if you guys are doing any open casting.

September was amazing! It was so awesome meeting you guys for the first time! Running into Alan multiple times and "hanging out" with Jono during the Dr. Horrible Sing-Along Blog: Sing Along are both tied in my top three favorite parts of FanX. Meeting Smidge and Alyssa, and attending all three panels are also on that list. I cannot wait to go again and be with the Trouble Trio again! I'm also planning on making it to the Vegas event, so I cannot wait to hear more about that so I can plan accordingly ❤️. I personally don't have anything planned for October. I LOVE Halloween, but I probably won't do anything this year unfortunately. I'll be excited to see what all everyone else does, though!
