That's a Wrap: January 2025

Here's a recap of what we did last month!

Did January feel like forever for y'all? We did it, we made it to February!

After a restful winter break, we dove right into work with the first shoot of the year! We finally got Jono to record a session of Murder She Rolled, and we filmed a very ridiculous thing that will be a Grab Bag on Patreon soon. Hint: it pairs with an upcoming CT episode on High School Musical 2!

After an early January shoot, we started planning for the next one. The content just keeps coming! Here's an emoji hint for an episode we're working on: πŸ¦πŸ¦§πŸŒ³πŸ‡¬πŸ‡§

We watched and reviewed movies over on our Cinema Therapy Reviews channel, like Wallace & Gromit: Vengeance Most FowlFlight Risk, and Dog Man. Did you see any of these movies, and if so, what did you think?

CyranØ has a locked edit! A ton of progress was made on post-production, and more is to come with visual effects shots and sound design. Our composer, Caleb Blood, has been working on the score, and it's sounding incredible! We're getting so close to being able to show you the film!

We may have shot something Star Wars related...

Here's a sneak peek of what's coming next!

We'll prep for the next Cinema Therapy shoot, but the big exciting news for February is that CyranØ, our first Patreon-funded short film, is coming out this month!

We've got something incredible planned. We're going to be recording the score for CyranØ (and a little, special, top-secret project) with a live (small) orchestra! We'll do the sound mix, final color grade, and post the film to Patreon (hopefully) on Valentine's Day! Things are really starting to come together with this, we're so excited to show you all the film, and start sending it out to film festivals!

How was your month? What are you looking forward to next month?

Comments

Looking forward to your next romcom ranking list (here's hoping it gets released around mid-February & has some of the LGBTQIA+ films suggested in comments from the previous video!)

I would actually say that Speak No Evil isn't as dark as Nosferatu. Speak No Evil is a harsh lesson on boundaries, whereas Nosferatu is closer to literal grooming of a child to the point that she is basically possessed by him. Granted, there is grooming mentioned in Speak No Evil, as well with the "wife." It felt far more volatile in Nosferatu, though. Plus, the scene where the kids are brutally murdered and the dude goes to die with his wife? Sheesh... lol. There is definitely stuff that can be discussed. Just not sure if the guys would do it. If they did, I'll definitely watch it 😁.

Probably not much darker than something like Speak No Evil, don’t you think? Agree with you about how beautifully shot it is. Eggers and Jarin are masters at the craft. I think there are a lot of things that could be discussed related to the relationships related to therapy.

Based on their previous hints... I'm gonna guess it's exactly that lol.

SaucyJTD

Probably a bit too dark for their show πŸ˜…. I did throw it out there as a Deep Dive suggestion on filters and filming in general. I didn't enjoy the movie all that much myself, but it was obviously beautifully shot.

Re: β€œHint: it pairs with an upcoming CT episode on High School Musical 2!” Omg. Please be a CT music video of Bet On It.

Any plans to review Nosferatu? πŸ‘€

Based on costumes I'd say anakin and obi-wan friendship? I really hope for some obi-wan exclusive episode because especially in kenobi and clone wars he is so great character and imho the best representation of jedi values and ideals.

BlackAdder

YES. It also terrified the hell out of me. The scene of Clayton dying was INTENSE. But hey, we'll probably get some Phil Collins singing in the episode, so that'll totally erase any trauma from that brutal scene... right? πŸ˜‚

SaucyJTD

Totally, I'm a huge Tarazan fan, so I'm really excited for this upcoming episode. The movie always made me cry buckets. πŸ’”πŸ˜Ώ

TARZAN! Oh-oh-oh-oh-oh-oh-oh-oh-oh-oh-oh! Also, the first return episode of Murder She Rolled was AMAZING. Smidge had the awesome idea to do a listening party, so myself and Bryt joined in. Hoping to make it a thing for us to do consistently so we can nerd out like the dweebs we are πŸ€“. January was pretty great overall, honestly. Lots of fantastic set up for this upcoming year, and I cannot wait to make the drive to Utah for the CyranΓΈ showing! ❀️

This might be the Brit born in the 90s in me, but Better Man consumed the first few weeks of my January
