Question about Animal Idioms
Added 2018-01-12 19:49:59 +0000 UTCHi guys,
We’re working on a fun video about how the natural world has wormed its way into our language and culture, and we’re hoping you can help. In particular, we’re focusing on how different groups of people use animals in their idiomatic expressions - “it’s raining cats and dogs”; “he’s the black sheep of the family”; “don’t cast pearls before swine”; etc. - and we want to know what your favorites are from your culture. Can you reply with an example, plus the language and area it comes from?
Thanks
David
