PILOT EPISODE OF OUR NEW SHOW!

Hi Patrons,

A few months ago, an online platform called VRV approached MinuteEarth with the opportunity to make a new, original series about, well, pretty much anything we wanted. We have no plans to quit making MinuteEarth videos anytime soon – we love doing it too much – but VRV offered us a budget that would ALSO allow us to tell longer, more in-depth stories (think 10-15 minute episodes rather than 2-3 minute episodes).

So we teamed up with our friends at MinutePhysics and Veritasium to create a show called Paradigms that traces humanity's quest to answer some of our biggest questions about how the universe works. We’ve only created the first episode so far, but we’re pretty proud of it - it’s all about our understanding about how vision works, and it takes viewers on a journey from Plato’s idea of “visual fire” back in ancient Greece, to Al-Haytham’s camera obscura experiments during the Islamic Golden Age of Science, to our modern paradigm of optics and the brain.

We have lots of ideas for more episodes (like, What is a healthy diet? Where’s the center of the universe? How wrong are we today?) but VRV wants to see how Paradigms performs before funding the rest of the season, so we hope you'll go check it out! We’re going to post a MinuteEarth video introducing the show soon (which we wont charge you for), but we wanted you to be the first to know.
