(Purple)
Spellcraft is the discipline of transcribing the magnificent into the mundane. Making grand arcane working of the world into script, math and formula. Turning magic into science and the mysterious into the quantifiable. Mages of this discipline find themselves at the forefront of magical research and understanding.
These individuals meld technology and science with magic. They transcribe rune, build machines, and complex world changing artifacts. The Spellcraft mage does not wield a wand or staff (most of the time) but instead an anvil, an pin or an inscribing tool to bend and twist the arcane to their machinations.

The Circles of Enchantment
Enchanting is a highly specialized and revered branch of magic that focuses on imbuing objects with arcane properties. This practice is not only complex and dangerous, as it involves harnessing and binding potent energies into physical forms. A nature mage spell gone wrong may grow poisonous plants; a darkness mage might conjure a beast they can not control; an elemental mage burn down a city block, but a Spellcraft gone wrong could destroy a nation.
The first spell discipline and one of the most popular and dangerous if done incorrectly is the enchanting. Wizards of enchanting workshops are amongst the highest sought profession for those with the talent. Mage Enchanters are far and away better than their wizard counterparts and are classified into nine distinct Circles, each representing a progressively higher level of skill, knowledge, and complexity in enchanting magic.
First Circle
Basic Inscribers: First Circle Enchanters are novices, capable of inscribing simple magical circles on objects. Their enchantments are basic, such as minor protection spells, simple enhancements to physical attributes and limited casting spells. First Circle enchantments are one time use and will have to be remade after use. Often the enchantments are drawn on spell scrolls or talismans so they can be easily carried and replaced.
Training and Focus: These enchanters spend much of their time mastering the fundamentals of inscription, understanding the properties of basic materials, and learning the safe handling of arcane energies.
Second Circle
Adept Inscribers: With a deeper understanding of magical theory, Second Circle Enchanters can create more complex enchantments. They can imbue items with moderate enhancements, such as resistance to elements or improved durability. They can also set simple conditions to their enchantments such as “Warm Area” if the temperature drops to a set degree. Most Second Circle enchantments are multi-use but can not be recharged once all magical energies have been consumed.
Advancement: They begin to explore the use of different inscription tools and minor ritualistic practices to enhance the stability and power of their enchantments.
Third Circle
Craftsman Enchanters: Enchanters of the Third Circle can inscribe moderately complex magic circles, allowing for enchantments that can affect multiple properties simultaneously. Their works might include weapons that deal elemental damage or armor that provides significant protection. This is typically the highest level of enchanting mastery a wizard can achieve and is therefore the most common rank of enchanters.
Complexity and Control: They must maintain a precise balance of arcane energies, and their training includes learning how to manage and stabilize more volatile enchantments.
Fourth Circle
Advanced Enchanters: Fourth Circle Enchanters are skilled artisans, capable of crafting enchantments with sophisticated enchantments. Their creations often include specialized tools and items for other magic users. In order to be considered a Mage Enchanter a person has to reach this Circle of Enchanting.
Ritual Inscribing: They begin incorporating ritual inscribing into their enchanting processes, allowing for more potent and long-lasting effects. These enchantments can be made permanent as long as the enchantment is charged. Ambient mana or a magic caster’s mana can recharge these types of enchantments.
Fifth Circle
Senior Enchanters: Fifth Circle Enchanters are proficient in advanced magical formulae and can create enchantments with significant power and complexity. Examples include artifacts with multiple layers of enchantments or items with self-regenerating properties. The majority of Mage Enchanters remain at this Circle. Only few have ascended to higher circles beyond this alone.
Collaboration: Due to the sheer complexity of Fifth Circle enchantments, mages work in teams, combining their skills and knowledge along with decades of research to tackle particularly challenging, expensive and often dangerous experiments and innovative enchanting techniques.
Sixth Circle
Master Enchanters: Only the truly gifted have seen beyond the Fifth Circle these men are Master Enchanters. Mastery of enchanting magic allows these enchanters to create highly complex and powerful items. Their enchantments often have unique and specialized effects, tailored to the needs of specific users or purposes.
Arcane Tools and Rituals: They use specialized inscription tools and elaborate rituals, combining various magical disciplines to enhance the potency and stability of their enchantments.
Seventh Circle
Grandmasters of Enchantment: Seventh Circle Enchanters are rare and highly respected. Their enchantments are intricate and can include powerful artifacts capable of altering the fabric of reality in subtle ways. These individuals are national treasures and critical to the most powerful nations in the world’s national security.
Arcane Knowledge: They possess vast knowledge of magical theory and history, often delving into ancient texts and forgotten lore to enhance their craft.
Eighth Circle
Mythic Arch-Enchanters: These enchanters are among the elite of the elite, capable of creating enchantments that can alter the course of events or provide immense power. Their works include legendary artifacts, relics and nation killing weapons. There have been so few enchanters that have reached this level that they can be counted on two hands.
Innovators: They push the boundaries of enchanting, constantly innovating and discovering new techniques and materials to incorporate into their creations.
Ninth Circle
Sage Enchanters: The highest known level of enchanting of which only one person has ever reached. The Dwarf Sage Ake was The Ninth Circle Enchanter and legendary figure whose works are akin to myth. He was the creator of the Spellcraft Discipline and the father of enchanting. His artifacts are held by the Dwarven kingdoms to this day and are impossible to replicate, involving unsolvable magical formulae and boundless arcane energy.
Mythical Creations: Items that were enchanted by The Ninth Circle Enchanter Ake are the stuff of legends, often holding powers that defy understanding and logic.
