Hey friends!
We had a little drawing challenge among some illustrators last week! We were curious to see how differently we interpret scripts and how we would draw them if we could draw this in any style we like.
Cameron gave us a prompt in the form of a Bird Fact (we can always count on him for bird facts): "This yellow, red, and blue Central and South American Parrot is commonly seen feasting on fruits, nuts and berries. But some populations in Peru and Belize eat something that’s not food - they gather on vertical riverside cliffs to munch on clay rocks. Why?”
We took this prompt and made our drawings without looking at each other's work. It's amusing to see which parts we all added to our drawings and how we differ, both in style and in the interpretation of the prompt. We often wonder how different videos would turn out if they would be drawn by another illustrator - we all put our own fingerprint on everything we do.
Now, our question for you is: Who drew which illustration?
Oh, and the answer to Camerons' riddle is:
"These colorful birds are the famous Scarlet Macaw. Now, As for why the birds eat clay - It likely serves one of two purposes: The clay allows them to detoxify slightly toxic foods (basically serving as a tummy ache remedy), or they are supplementing their notoriously salt-poor diets with salt from the clay licks."
Thank you for being here with us and see you at our next video,
Lizah
