Quarantine and Tour Update...

That's a funny thumbnail, YouTube. It looks like I'm about to sing my ABC's. Anyways, I'll let the video speak for itself. <3

Quarantine and Tour Update...

Comments

Ok, so I'm a bit late to the game (lost job - left Patreon, new job - back now). I would gently suggest a few things. One, you absolutely can lean on us - financially, creatively, or just "hey, I feel isolated, let's do an impromptu livestream" for company. Two, when you're going through a rough spell it sometimes helps to keep a mood journal. Maybe you could do a vlog mood journal and release it | don't release it | release bits. Maybe it would just help. Third, on the finances side, maybe you could set up a cutout e-mail address and PayPal account so we (Patrons) can just throw money at it when we have spare. I've done this with other creators so I suspect you'd find a ton of support. Fourth, another creator I know has set up a public Amazon wish list for books and stuff, but there's a way you can do it without showing your address, so I buy him research materials but don't know where he is, other than country. If you were to do something like that, maybe we could at least send you materials. Finally, if you have other thoughts about what you might need for your work or health, let's just all talk about it on your next livestream. I'm rambling, sorry. Be well.

I like the book idea JB

Sorry to hear about the concert/speaking events being canceled. Perhaps there might be time to write a book, maybe a compilation of your past achievements or something new, a parent's guide to conduct fun experiments at home?

Jeremy Baker

Virtual hugs and sneezes to you too, Dianna. 🙂

Chris Wyma

That figures, maybe you will be able to do the tour next time they tour if it gets canceled this time. Good luck with everything & be safe!

Tier bumped!

Thank you for added information.I heard this last week during a "live streaming festival" broadcast from Germany where the presenter kept encouraging everyone home to sing along to apply on this principle. I for one, some 15 years ago, composed quite some songs on the guitar following my mother's death. Ever since I tend to write songs when things are bad. I first need to get past that "rabbit in the middle of the road staring at car lights" stage. I'm close to that now I think, and my current art of choice is colouring books :)

Music is therapeutic because it requires all your attention. Your hands, fingers, eyes, ears, and voice are needed. You forget about your troubles and worries for a while so you can focus on one complex task that is essentially an art form. If that art you happen to be performing happens to be a song you love and have good memories of, it makes you remember those things from your past and also helps you forget about what's troubling you in the moment. Sometimes it's someone you love and respect you recall. Sometimes it's an event. Either way, music is hands down the best way to relieve stress. You just have to get through the learning part before you can actually relieve the stress. Once you're good at singing and playing guitar, it's the best feeling in the world to be creating something beautiful.

Stay safe and sane! I also bumped my tier (all the money that's not going to Starbucks these days needs a purpose after all). Thanks for you wonderful content :-)

Hey! You are loved, you are not alone and know (and sorry, I haven't been able to source the scientific proof) it would seem that making music/singing is incompatible with being afraid. What it means is: you shouldn't be able to feel fear whenever you are making music or singing ;)

Virtual hug to you as well! Stay safe and I'm looking forward to more physics, even the physics constrained to your house. Happy physicsing!

Virtual hugs to you from all of us here. Stay safe. It is tough being stuck in a place and we are all in it together. Would love to brainstorm on things but my brain stormed out of my head years ago 😂. Cheers and happy physicsings
