Important Statement on the Life is Strange situation and a new Discord Server invite

Hey guys,

so something happened in the past couple of days and I'd like to share that with you and try to be as open about it as possible. I've been thinking about how to put it over the weekend and end of the the day I decided to be entirely honest.

Last week Square Enix community manager contacted me and asked me about Life is Strange 3 rumours. Initially I thought he mostly meant that video I posted on my channel (Life is Strange 3 rumours one), but then it turned out a youtuber called SmackNPie (he's often posting leaks and spoilers videos) also posted a video similar to mine and gave many more details than I did. I think he also said I was the source (haven't watched that video, not sure if it's still up). Now I'm not blaming him, nor anyone really, shouting me out was actually a decent thing to do and I still believe both him and me had a right to post a video about these rumours with us being video bloggers after all.

Unfortunately Square Enix didn't see it that way and I also understand their point of view - especially with the The Last of Us Part II situation every developer is a bit tense I suppose. At this point I should tell you up until that day I had a really good relationship with that person. 

Sadly our conversation didn't go all that well. Enough to say he made me feel terrible about posting that rumours video on my channel, talking to you guys about these rumours and recommending Life is Strange 3 community discord server - which I did because a friend asked me to.

That server is a whole other deal - community manager also contacted guys running it, because it seems like every single detail about the upcoming games was available there. They even knew things I didn't. Personally I never shared anything with them. I think they're decent guys though, led by nothing by excitement about the upcoming games while setting up that server. 

The conversation that I had with the community manager upset me. I immediately took down Life is Strange 3 rumours video, LIS3 server recommendation on twitter and every single post I ever shared on Patreon about these rumours. I apologised a couple of times. Even though I did that, he was still making me feel terrible about this. I was really down after talking to him. He made me feel like I myself single handedly ruined this entire franchise and that I hated it, not loved it.

Let me get this straight - I regret having posted that official video, which was the biggest problem I suppose. I shouldn't have done that. Then again what I shared in that video, not sure if you've watched it, wasn't a lot. The only thing I said was that there might be a new Life is Strange game developed by Decknine. I repeated over and over again these are only rumours. I don't want to get defensive here, but I do want you guys to see the whole picture and my point of view.

I think what upset me the most was the way he was talking to the LIS3 server guys . They're just teenagers. One of them is actually a minor. They also took that conversation badly, I think afterwards they felt worse than I did.

Now here's what I really want to say: I was sharing these rumours with you guys for the pure reason of being excited about this. I love the franchise and I was happy we can talk about it. I trusted you guys to keep it all within this website and I still do. I picked Patreon as the sharing platform not to make money off this, but because I knew Patreon is the safest media - it's closed and every single person that joins provides their personal details which creates a sense of responsibility. I never meant to harm the franchise in any way and I'm sad that's the way communicty manager saw that. Again, I understand their point of view. I think he was really upset and found an outcome to his anger within myself or LIS3 guys. But I also think that's not the way to talk to a person, especially a Life is Strange fan - I've known Life is Strange fans to be often quite fragile.

I wanted to be fair with you guys and tell you that for now we're gonna have to stop discussing Life is Strange rumours. We can still talk on Discord. I think it's the safest solution right now - also to protect people that told me about these future games.

Now Discord. I wanted to tell you I've set up a new Stop Me Oh server. That's something that's still a secret. I've been unhappy with my server for a while now. I felt like people who joined it don't really follow my channel anymore and they're not really friends within the server. I won't be announcing that on my old Discord server as I want people who actually watch my videos to find their way into the new server which I will be recommending in my videos only.
