The '5, 7... OMG I can't count!' part made me laugh so hard

Basically the comic has a lot of great moments and character touches that are trapped in the context of a major plot that made some really big blunders.
If I could sum it all up, the idea of having a book with this alternate timeline version of Rachel in it, however fun that is, was not worth sacrificing the rest of the familiar, "main" timeline for - least of all the version of Chloe closest to the one we went through LIS with.
And the current state of play feels like the author knows that by and large the motivated purchasing/reading audience want *that* girl back but also doesn't want to set aside the world that mostly exists so Rachel can be part of the proceedings, and that we can look forward to an indefinite delay in Max ever actually succeeding in getting back to her. Or worst, and the ultimate failure conditions for the book, either Max changes her mind and accepts life with these "good enough" alternate versions as preferable or, worse still, some sort of amalgamating superposition takes place, Crisis on Infinite Chloes, and we get some sort of combo thing? Ugh, I'd be right the hell out.
My shelf-life for this new world I fear only has about the 8 issues we've spent in it, although pushing it to 12 seems viable. I don't think I'm bothering beyond that if we've found yet another reason to kick it down the road. I really enjoyed moments like Rachel's existential crisis over the mistakes/misdeeds of a dead girl in another world, that's been the best bit of story we couldn't do without coming to this universe.
Call it 'shippy or not, I ultimately thing something has gone sideways when you have a comic that's hand-picked jumping off point has been the aftermath of sacrificing Arcadia Bay and its effect on the relationship between Max and Chloe... that has barely spent any time on either of those things. A story in which the central emotional thread for Max is "I can't be with Chloe but I really wish I could and maybe if I try things can be different" had a much more obvious stepping off point in the BAY ending, honestly.
