TL:DR - I wanted to reboot all comics and other concepts and merge them under one adult only magazine similar to swell Singles Called 3B's Digizine. It will host Comics, Pin-Up collections, Magazines, and even feature works that I do primarily offline, like typographic works, encyclopedia styled works, etcetera. Bandgalz (the comic concept of it anyway, still fapping about in unity 2d) will be incorporated into this new banner as well. also, like with the Swell Singles concept, there will be little continuity between each 3b's issue, with the only continuity being shared between issues with the same subtitle.
Long Version.
Basically, I wanted to simplify the Swell Singles Art process as well as bring all my comics, magazine concepts, pin-up books, or whatever else under one banner that isn't necessarily only allowed to host Expansion Fetish content, with each issue's subject being separated based on the subtitle of the Magazine / Comic. I typically work with print in mind and for the Swell Singles concept to work, some changed needed to be made.
I wanted a workspace that could be printed on both A4 and US Letter pages without having to crop or skew the original art and so that comic prints could be done at home using either the US or ISO variant of that PDF while both receiving the same art quality, and eventually settled on working on a 5.5 by 8.25-inch canvas at 600dpi (139.7mm by 209.55mm at 600dpi)
Next, I wanted all empty space to be white (or Black for Digital Versions of comics) and not to use texture overlays or other ink draining effects so at home prints could be somewhat reasonable. Test Prints of Swell Singles was a technical nightmare and I've never wanted to set fire to a printer so badly in my life. well except maybe during graduation prints. Not to mention how many of the textures and effects used to make swell singles were needlessly complex causing files to become needlessly huge and hard to work with.
Lastly, I wanted to focus more on solid color use and sticking with my usual art style, which would allow for some consistency as well as make it easier to work with typography in InDesign rather than relying on clip studio for laying out type. Unlike how I've done most comics in the past, where I work purely in clip studio, for things like tutorials, fictional encyclopedias, or other things that would feature far more text than a comic, I would prefer to work in In Design due to its text tools and fiddling with texture overlays and other effects in and out of three different programs at once is a needless pain when I could simplify everything.
There's a bunch of other minor technical stuff I've changed about how comics and other works will be done from now on but basically, I'm aiming to remove unnecessary steps and/or tools that I've been using in my works to not only speed up production but to allow me to focus on the stuff that's really important while also giving me the freedom to make issues that aren't about expansion but are maybe pin-up collections, or showcases of non-fetish work or whatever else may come to mind. With all that said, Bandigalz (at least any comic concepts for it anyway, still fapping about in unity 2d for other stuff) will also be under this banner as after working with it for far too long at this point, I think having a non-canon or soft cannon flow for each issue would suit it a little better.
But yea, hope folks are staying safe and keeping their hands clean and what not. I'm still a little under the weather but hopefully I'll get better soon. :)
