Post ideas.

Had a handful of new Patrons in the last few weeks. Thank you for parting with your hard earned. I hope you enjoy the stuff and please feel free to post suggestions for videos.

I’m considering doing one tonight about wacky percussion in Operator.

hahaha p.s. Btw, Delay CTRL, if you really quickly press like one of the first 4, THEN do like a normal beat repeat, like press the 6th.... If you win, then you capture a snip of the glitch in the repeat and it sounds guuuhrhhhhhrreeeat!

Tebbisimo

Love u too ned.

Ned Rush

love u ned

Tebbisimo

hahaha yeh absolutely. and i mean resample off tha main with the delay ctrl cos that is fat

Tebbisimo

I will do more OT videos. They are just a hassle to shoot compared to software.

Ned Rush

Ok, Mine are all Octatrack now soz: How 'bout - Workflow with Resampling? Like mashing up or layering some breaks, with diff effects on the chain, then resampling to a recorder buffer. And like structuring your breaks with Arranger, so its like A:B, A:4 or whatever. I'm slowly getting there but I'd like 2 watch u doiinnnn it. With like 1-shot Recorder trigs you arm on the recorder buffer once you are happy with the arrangement. And like maybe having Pattern 2 already set up to play everything you recorded, with clever use of allllllll the buffers set to resampling, or SRC 3 or whatever... No one seems to have a vid like that p'on the tubes, and the more I think about Octa the more it's super genius with it. Like I'm trying to layer breaks with my drum machine n shit....I dunno y, y anything. Juss an eye, derr

I'd be up for M4L madness...

I’d love to do more max For Live video but the simple problem is that running the mic in and having max For Live open inside Ableton creates huge latency to the point that I can’t actually talk, but now I have a better computer and video editing I could probably work out a solution.

Ned Rush

I have a request - I want to get into working with M4L - the first thiing I'd like to understand is how to go into preexisting devices and map the controls to Push2. I have been looking for a clear, consise step by step how to for this process - but as of yet havent found one. If this is within your wheelhouse, I'd be grateful for any advice. I want to be clear that though Im have studied audio engineering (SAE NYC) and have been working with Live since V4 - I still consider myself, at least to some degree, an "unfriendly User" - to unpack that a bit - I have no love for tech, as far as I am concerned its all just complicated paint-brushes. I have never been a geared (accept for my basses - but thats totally different) - sure - I like cool shit and drool over the cool new stuff from NAMM - but I dont fetishise complerssors - or code. I just want to know how it works - and how I can make it do other cool stuff - dig it. Before you suggest PrEditor 2 - I own it. And though I think its a brilliant bit of kit - I have never really been able to get it to work properly for me - though the folks at Isotonik have gone abocve and beyond in service (good lot - a bit pricey - but quality work). Anyway - rant over - I think my adderall must have kicked in......

Joshua Boden

be careful: Far from what I claim, it's rather more organic than your usual didgeridoo

Tebbisimo

For a second I read that as “maybe I’ll sell you my didgeridoo”

Ned Rush

Yes. Although you can map the algorithms you can’t use any lfos or midi effects. My plan is to make it go crazy just with random velocities. I’ll shoot the video shortly and will be up this evening.

Ned Rush

Well hey, do a great job on this operator video, maybe I'll sell you my digitone jajaja

Tebbisimo

Ahaha, that's the beauty of a machine eh - it will suck in your soul and reflect your true intention! Assigning a Random LFO to the Operator or Synth Ratios is v v fun :) Infact having the whole P-lock thing going, and being able to tweak the Ratios is fantastic - not sure how immediate you can do that in (hello) Operator

Tebbisimo

I wasn’t planning on evolving and beautiful, more like random and irritating.

Ned Rush

Dude you will absolutely love it...Its amazing. So Amazing. You really can do whole, moving evolving beautiful pieces on it! It is insane! But I would love to see how far you get with Operator!

Tebbisimo

I actually really fancy a digitone. Looks like a good partner for the Octatrack, but then I remembered I have Operator which is what gave me the idea to do a video on it.

Ned Rush

Yeh defo. Picked up a digitone and FM Percussion is so farkin flexible... Would love to see a video where, I dunno - you just have Operator and a SAW wave, and then make a whole track from that 1 channel. So basically 800 return tracks that are just mutating the same sound into something else to make the whooooole thing hahahah.

Tebbisimo

Percussion on Operator sound good !
