Parallel Breaks

Here's a simple set that uses some breaks to create all the sounds. The breaks are using follow actions to randomise various positions. These run into a large series of Beat Repeat that are juggling them about to create rhythms. They then get bussed off to 2 return tracks. One track has a Corpus running into a Saturator to create a bass sound, and the second is running to a Beat Repeat set to gate mode, running into a Resonator and Echo to create a dubby stab. Here go, listen to it do it's thing and explore. See you soon.

I already done it. Ned Rush = Beat Repeat Glitch Breaks (Ableton Live 9) <a href="https://youtu.be/fgW-juPtxLM" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">https://youtu.be/fgW-juPtxLM</a>

So I took this thing apart earlier and poked at it. Here's a thought: Every time you ask for video ideas I come up empty, but I just had one. You use Beat Repeat in some really cool ways, from the 4 bar looper on the bass to that long "deliberate chaos" chain on the breaks. I think a video just about BR, how you use it, and your thought process behind building chains would be really cool. You did the glitch breaks video in November but looking at this project, it seems to me that a lot has happened since then. Do you think there's something there?

Fucking hell, this is good! I've been messing around with very similar techniques in the last couple months (gated beat repeats, generative return tracks from randomised breaks) but this is way more nuanced even in it's musical simplicity. And the corpus bass is so lush it's breaking my brain! Thanks Ned!
