You mean like how “min max” works but alternating?

Ned Rush

how about a way to separate what happens on up beats vs down beats?

I’m going to add a basic envelope for sure.

Or any other tuplets really, but most (if not all) devices stock or third-party don't seem to include that level of tuning so again I don't know if it's practical or even possible to do that. Even just triplets would be highly beneficial to not just someone like me though for sure. Also I just thought now is it possible to add a fade control for the beginning and ends of slices? Not that I'm demanding all these very time-consuming features, just would be convenient.

You want to slice in triplets?

Hey Ned, love the device, have gotten a good bit of use out of your STITCH device you made a while back and am glad you're still tinkering with this stuff, let alone sharing it. I'm wondering if it'd be possible for Nedit to add a sliding or drop-down selection for number of 16th notes that things last for or number of slices in a loop etc. to better use this tool in whacko time sigs (rather than being stuck with powers of 2 and no real tuplets). Though I'm not sure how easy it'd be to implement or if it'd even be practical, I'm sure something to that effect (perhaps even adding a global time sig control/drop-down which affects all parameters for another example) would greatly aid in the device's flexibility. Anyway, keep up the fantastic work man!

Very cool! Turns out I got most of it (and whatever I said about steep learning curve in my older comments was probably just me being too high), although I hadn't really made the connection between the Slice and Loop tabs. In the video, when you set the loop to 2 and it actually looped your 8th note slice, it clicked for me. If you know that, the connection is pretty clear. Some more UI feedback: The help text in Live's info box keeps randomly disappearing. Your eyes didn't fool you when you made the video. Sometimes it even happens for elements I was just reading about 5 seconds earlier. Move cursor away, move it back, text suddenly gone. I'll bet that's a Max issue more than a Nedit issue, though. Another thing I didn't even think about until watching this was font colours. When you set Live's UI to a darker shade, at some point fonts will switch from black to white for contrast. This is how Nedit looks for me: https://ibb.co/iySXGL Notice how all the inactive buttons have white font. Really kills readability for Live's dark themes. Don't know if you wanna do more UI work, just thought I'd point it out since you always seem to be using the default theme. Cheers!
