Added 2020-09-15 18:52:47 +0000 UTCHello all. I’m looking into starting up doing paid online workshops to coincide with some other opportunities that are heading my way soon and wanted to ask you lot first what you would consider to be worthwhile topics to cover in such a thing. I’m looking at a course of 4 workshops of 2 hours each down Zoom, multiple participants. Would like to hear your suggestions.

One thought :: I believe you have the ability to structure things in a way that would be highly beneficial for more sustainable, scalable use. Think, "how can I create more of a tangible product / program (with additional services potentially) from my Patreon (and other) followers?" According to the metrics you've quoted, you're not too far away from being able to do this full time. Properly productizing your offering could help you bridge that gap, plus give you scalability for the future. Something as simple as thinking of your offering categorically, making it searchable, realizing and implementing a path from whatever you consider "inception" through to "completion" ... More like what one learns in a school. You would increase usability of your past content in a major way, and a plethora of other benefits.

2020-09-22 18:31:32 +0000 UTCsame @gordon. also, making the leap from really simple basic stuff into something that actually sounds cool and could be used in a song... always been difficult.

2020-09-16 22:09:10 +0000 UTCI’m just beginning to look at Max, so a workshop on developing a simple synth or effect or midi device would be great.

2020-09-16 19:46:41 +0000 UTCThe tricky thing with that is picky a style of track to work on that appeals to lots of people. I’m pretty certain no style of music like that exists, except 80s pop.

2020-09-16 19:32:44 +0000 UTCOk. It seems I have often seen people mention that they would like to see more of a focus on finishing a piece. Most if not all of my videos have been about getting ideas started, but rarely finishing them. I’ll have a think on putting something together involving starting and finishing a track perhaps over multiple workshops. I’ll be looking to get this going in the next few months and signups will be separate from Patreon, but perhaps I could offer a discount to patrons.

2020-09-16 19:26:26 +0000 UTCWorkshops looking at the end to end process, from ideas to jamming to mix down and master. I'd be up for it.

2020-09-15 22:06:45 +0000 UTCI love your tutorials. One thing I’d like to see is a device that uses random/scale midi effects that can also change key and/or tonality.
