How does everyone feel about Live 11 then?
Added 2020-11-10 21:44:07 +0000 UTCOh, I wanted this to be a poll, but I can’t do that from the mobile app. Comments.

I just bought 10 and push 2... feel kind of same but this is a significant release and Ableton makes great software. I've bene using the beta fro few days and it is nice. I'm still learning sound design not yet producing...

2020-11-16 13:32:19 +0000 UTCI'm an ableton fanboy and love everything they do. So well excited for 11. A bit surprised it came so quickly consider 9 got to 9.5 before a paid upgrade. But it's all good. I used to layer guitar loops on my dad's reel to reel; it's just the same thing with more bells and whistles. It's how you use any of this stuff - it all comes from within! But yeah stoked for 11. Particularly the spectral stuff.

2020-11-12 08:57:57 +0000 UTCPersonally, love the qol updates such as comping and the collapse to scale. At first was unmoved by MPE stuffs then just realized it allows aftertouch controls on Push 2. Was initially not super psyched about the cost increase but realizing these are pretty significant upgrades along with some new devices to play with. Also Jamie Lidell is amazing and puts on one hell of a show. That is all. ^_^

2020-11-11 17:47:04 +0000 UTCIt should be Live 10.5 not 11. Live 10 just came out not long ago and they just supported until 10.2? And now they want user to upgrade again for another $200. They're being like Reason. I think now it's more practical to switch with Bitwig

2020-11-11 07:31:35 +0000 UTCThe MPE, the probability, the comping - all fantastic and Live almost feels like an instrument rather than a DAW — but the stuff I can’t wait to play with is all that spectral smearing and time control — feels like a giant granular device. Ordered immediately and can’t wait to see how far you’ll push it into weirdness.

2020-11-11 03:22:46 +0000 UTCI think it all looks like good stuff that’s being added, very much aimed at filling logic shaped holes - but it looks a little underwhelming for a whole number release. I feel like slap some massive headline feature on there like some sort of modulate anything matrix (like renoise’s modulation) or a bitwig style modular environment, or some sort of session/ scene arrangement mode (again a bit like renoise) and there’d be more to get excited about.

2020-11-10 23:16:52 +0000 UTCLove it. Having note probability embedded in clips without Max4Live is really nice. And the enhancements to Follow Actions are also long awaited, at least for me... It's an evolution rather than revolution.

2020-11-10 22:58:12 +0000 UTCI'm a sucker for a great teaser video and this year they went all out. It'll probably take me ages to get around all the QOL and interface adjustments but I'm really excited to get into the new native effects.

2020-11-10 22:53:12 +0000 UTCsigned up for the beta. they pretty much addressed almost all of my complaints. i wouldnt mind some more vj love besides video clips in comps and the session slots.

2020-11-10 22:47:42 +0000 UTCI have been messing around with the beta for the past couple of hours. The little things like having LFO's and MIDI Envelopes with the native effects are nice and the new audio effects are just beautiful. Follow Actions, Scene follow and all that are great and that's without even getting into the clip probabilities, scales etc which while previously doable with M4L make for a more streamlined workflow now I guess. All in all, very pleased.

2020-11-10 22:16:24 +0000 UTCI think at this point, a company as large as ableton is mindful that users don’t want updates to completely alter the experience. I’ll say this. Using 11 feels like using 10 and I’m happy about that. There’s a lot to get into I feel. It’s easy to think you don’t get much but there’s a lot new to learn and love.

2020-11-10 22:07:34 +0000 UTCIm almost exactly the same as Sean above - I skipped 10 and stuck with 9 as I have 15(?) years of archive projects I need 32bit plugins for and not even a bridge. Seemed to offer little I liked and break all my backwards compatibility. Saying that Ive not preordered 11 yet but I plan to! Drum stuff I missed in 10, Reverb, spectral stuff but most impressive the probability stuff!

2020-11-10 21:59:39 +0000 UTCI'm still on 9 because 10 didn't seem like much of an upgrade (for the money, anyway). I pre-ordered 11 this morning, almost instantly. I think your video made a good case for just resampling long jams and arranging them with comps. That's a good workflow. God, do I hate arranging. Between that, all of the follow action and chance stuff, it's a generative paradise.

2020-11-10 21:47:30 +0000 UTCI feel a bit like when I look at modern Technics Lego - too many newfangled specialist parts that take the fun out of it a bit. I’ll probably get it though.

2020-11-10 21:47:30 +0000 UTCI’m a little bummed to pay $200 for comps and MPE when all the others have had this for a couple years. Most of the new stuff outside of this feel like free max devises rebranded

2020-11-10 21:45:08 +0000 UTCSeems like it should’ve been a 10.5 update , feels like too much of a cash grab to me
