I also kinda hate manual drum programming, this controlled randomness just saved my life! You can use this technique to infuse any genre with some IDM-ness really, just have another drum track playing either a breakbeat, trap beat, house beat etc, and then adjusting the probabilities of the IDM drum track according to the style. For example, having some 8-bit stuff with high chances on each 3rd and 4th note (then 7th & 8th, etc) of a 4/4 bar creates a super funky IDM house groove.

That was awesome only took me a week to do lol. As for comment on needing all content for us patreoners , i don't think that true cos if we dont start with blank canvas i certainly wouldnt learn anything. I just need them samples cos i find it hard where to start lol internet is just a minefield now. i would gladly buy a sample pack off you, As you said at end i have ended up with some serious content and will try building something off my own in future. move onto Bass now. Love it. ps your last comment i manged to work out for myself , dead proud lol

You can make your own slicing presets but you should have “slice to empty Sampler”. If for some reason that’s not there then drop an empty Sampler then name it then drag it to user library/defaults/slicing in live browser.

It best to do it either in separate projects or do it as you go.

Bro this is so huge, you can made dope loops in seconds! The only issue is the sample management with the fuckin crops but in the finder you can deal with it if sorting by date
