Monthly Zoom meetup/Hangout
Added 2021-04-06 20:43:28 +0000 UTCI had this idea to host a monthly Zoom meetups/hangouts that are exclusive to patrons and wondered what everyone thought? We would all just get together, maybe each one could have a theme we vote on or something, and we just hang out. It wouldn't be a q&a with me for 2 hours, more like I would just host it, maybe people could volunteer to present things, or do a performance, or talk through a track or project, and we all swap ideas, basically a music tech pub! only i'm the landlord :) I offer out this poll for feedback. It would be on the most neutral time zone I could come up with, like 9pm UK time on a weekend or something.

no no. you don't understand, I really am not trying to put music out. I like to sit around, make random loops and zone out, see where they go. I have not finished a song. Like ever. I don't understand song structure, or anything. So like I am one of those guitarists with a delay pedal who just zones out while noodling around. I do that with amen breaks, subbass, wobbles etc. This is really just something I do for fun. But I appreciate your comment.

Self criticism is rarely enough and your significant other/spouse, family and friends will lie to you. If you are really that worried about it message me and I will give you an honest opinion (I been a professional musician off and on 20 years).

2021-04-09 20:17:55 +0000 UTCIt certainly sounds like a great format. It's like a socially distanced masterclass. I took a master class with Phillip Glass once and it was very helpful.

2021-04-09 20:14:50 +0000 UTCAlso, I was interested in what the one hour sessions were like for "patrons," it seems like it could be rather sad and uncomfortable or very helpful from a production perspective. This is probably a good way to get a feeling for which is more likely.

2021-04-09 20:13:08 +0000 UTC9pm UK time on saturday would suck if I was still in the UK, but here in Chicago it gives me an excuse to start early (not that any pubs worth a damn are open yet).

2021-04-07 17:18:54 +0000 UTCI really am an untalented hack otherwise I would have chosen option 1. Music is literally just a hobby and I have a very realistic grasp on how bad I am. LOL.

2021-04-07 09:10:00 +0000 UTCFantastic idea! I'm an ableton/music production novice so I would have to get over some shyness, but I would love to contribute and talk music production with others.

2021-04-06 20:59:28 +0000 UTCa discord i'm a part of has a channel where you put links for group crit, the main guy will schedule times for a live review. he'll share screen and go through play stuff and give notes/react. everyone else sounds off in the chat. it's a great format.
