Rave Stations!

Hello. I’m normally not one for flashy photos of my stuff. I’m far too modest, but on this occasion I’m pleased to announce rave station 1 and rave station 2. Rave station 1 for the old school compressed like an idiot Ableton videos (and serious work teaching and producing music) and rave station 2 for new hybrid content of hardware and software working together in perfect enharmony, making use of the natural light provided by a massive window. So a summer awaits of hazy knob tiwddling, button bashing, messy patching, guitar shredding, epic droning, sporadic burping, pedal stomping, who knows. Also I may invite people onto my YouTube for interviews. Maybe it’ll be you! My patrons. Your kind support over the years has not gone un-noted, and without it I would not have been able to venture into this strange new world of being a full time..... um........... content creator? 😬 educator? 🧐 musician 😎 anyway. One more week and I’ll be back into the swing of it. Enjoy the pics. Thanks all. xx

It's on my agenda. Can't decide whether to do a long episode or lots of short ones. So much to talk about.

Ned Rush

It would be great to learn how you intergrate the Model 12 mixer into your workflow.

Broken Semitone

that eurorack is foul

I think those or mice. Or you’re drinking 40s

you could always use the stereo tracks as return tracks and then feed them back into themselves for mega dub dub dub dub ub ub ub ub b b b b

Ned Rush

More importantly how many human hearts can fit in that cooler?

grimmwerks

Nice one. I've been getting on well with a Tascam Model 12 here. Lots of options for how to use it. If it had more aux outs and a couple of stereo returns it'd be perfect

At some point I will do an indepth video about just how flexible it is, but I would say that, it is flexible. I haven't done any serious multitrack recording with it (I doubt I will anytime soon) and I have no sound judgement when it comes to preamps. For me personally I love and am still finding out new stuff it can do, but for a serious multitrack recording solution I would probably go for the 16 or 24 as they at least have analogue eq and comps on each channel. Even then I would say you will get better sound with other units of a similar price like the new MOTU units which have good preamps and now DSP on the units controlled from the computer. For me, recording videos, livestream, jamming with hardware, multitracking with hardware, I love it, and the routing to and from the computer is what I've been wanting for a long time without spending 3 grand on a Midas, but I can't comment on the quality of the channel strips, but then I always buy for functionality more than quality.

Ned Rush

rad, congrats. looking forward to you telling your neighbors off the balcony “and what is this video about?”. how are you liking the model 12? been thinking of expanding my lil UAD 2 in guy with some ADAT pre’s to get more lines in but the model 12 seems to do a lot more for less cash than some second hand pre’s so thinking selling the apollo and grabbing it.

Kmac

all of the power derived from the criminally understated A-Team mouse pad.

Sample Attire

They're pretty cheap, solid and good dimensions for small synths or modular. Good when sitting or standing.

Ned Rush

Ahhh. Good! Might get some if they’re made for modular!! [ or Moduär, in Ikeanese]

Paul

Yes. Hatstand makes for good cable managment,

Ned Rush

I cannot recommend the Ikea Malm dressing tables enough. The draws make it even better.

Ned Rush

Nice stations Ned! Love the hatstand. ⚡️Please do keep creating and noize-ing. It’s brilliant and keeps me in touch with good stuff and all the good people on here.

Paul

Damn - I forgot to use the word ‘wanton’ - I’ve been waiting such a long time and now I’ve blown it.

John Williams

Looks tha bizniz Ned - Looking forward to much gratuitously excessive and lascivious knob fondling over the summer - Make vids on balcony !! - Blast deranged breakcore at the world from on high. Megaaaaaaaaaaaaaah!

John Williams

Also, I may start livestreaming breakcore from my balcony.
