Live Set Breakdown Video

Hello everyone. Since sooo many of you were kind enough to show your enthusiasm on that photo I posted, here is a video of me breaking down my live set I will be performing in Brighton this weekend, exclusive for Patreon members. Hope you enjoy it.

Great breakdown, very enlightening. Thanks for mentioning the transitions!

What is the visualizer you are using? Does the waveform get projected to the audience or it will just be on your computer screen? I've been wondering about adding visual elements to performances as well.

Mark Ankenman

Loved that breakdown - thank you!!! Two quick comments/questions? Do you have any old ipad at all? Reason I ask is years ago I did a layout for Lemur with 4 x-y touch pads for Turnado (it makes the desktop version controllable just like the native ipad version). Its in the Lemur ipad repository but I can send you it if you like. I still use it on an old ipad 4 running ios7 :-) 2nd thing - if you pipe the audio into the visualizer (1 channel for X and the other for Y) you could do crazy Lissajous curves on the live audio! Been my holy grail to get a laser to do that on my modular stuff - been dreaming about it for about a decade and a half! Have a great show! Wish I could catch you live - come to Ireland!!!

Inspiring! Thnx for the inside look into the kitchen of your performance setup!

I’m itching for a case of what I believe they call in the Max world “unlock shock”

I did run through it a while back for a nitty but not with video. I’ll try and get to that!

I’d love to see you do a similar breakdown of the Max looper.

Ned Rush

Excellent run through. I was nodding along to the idiot proof thing in particular. Must remember that. lol. Not that I play out anymore but that’s such a good point. Knowing my looper max patch was in breakable really put me at ease back in the day. Not using cpu hogs. Trying to break the set by mashing it all up is a good idea. See if there’s anything that might trip you up. Then your mind knows it’s solid. I needed that at least

Something I forgot to mention which may be of interest. All the clips are loaded into RAM as I heard this can help with performance if you have a lot of RAM, they are also all set the Re-Pitch so if I feel compelled to change tempo then it acts more like a turntable.
