Per Creation

One of our Directors suggested that it might be beneficial for all to charge per creation. So, instead of just switching to this without notifying everyone, I decided to put a poll on it to see if current patrons would be OK with this change. If this should become too much when we have a lot more mods in circulation, I will switch back to what we have currently after another vote.

I should note that by making this change, I will need set a max limit of how many mods or updates are released in a month. Like for instance, Private Practice might release this coming weekend or the weekend after. SNB MIGHT be completed in the same month as well. That means it is possible to have two charges in one month in some instances. So in your poll options, you have the choice of whether you would like to switch to per creation and the max limit to which you are ok being charged if so.

With this change, there will only be two tiers, Beta-Testers ($5) and Visionaries ($7). The new Beta-Testers will be the combination of Backers and Beta-Testers (Backers may need to sign back up). In this tier, you will get everything a Beta-Tester receives, which is access to mods in Beta (2 weeks before public release if no issues are found). The new Visionaries tier will be the combination of Visionaries and Directors (Directors may need to sign back up). In this tier, you will get everything a Visionary and Director should receive (the ability to submit mod ideas, make decisions on the SimRealist's next moves are mod-wise or business-wise, receive the monthly SimRealist status report of all the happenings behind the scenes, and receive the Alpha and Beta versions of all our mods). This tier will not be capped like it was in the past.

This poll is set to expire the 27th of this month. This will give me time to update the setup before everyone gets charged for June.

If you have any questions regarding the poll options you can reach me in the comments below or on Discord with @simrealist used so that I'm notified of your question(s).

Much Love,

Nichole

I understand ๐Ÿ˜Š And yes that will be the case for paid posts ๐Ÿ˜ƒ

Well, I still can't vote because I feel the best way is to give on the months content comes out and to set a limit on how much I give at most. I didn't understand the prerelease thing. If you don't want it to be free, use the option "only for patreons" and check the charge box.

And I don't have a plan to to do a post like that at this moment.

SimRealist

Yes...that would be a Pre-release post and not one tied to a patron benefit.

SimRealist

Yo DO know that you can put posts public and still charge for them, right?

Vidde

However, if anyone doesn't care how many we post a month please like Vidde's post and I will put it into consideration.

SimRealist

Yes! I wanted to limit how many we produce in the month for the sake of our patrons. This could include feature updates on one mod or the amount of mods we are producing in one month. I didn't want to over do on the posts and patrons miss out because they can't afford it. If we get to a point in which we are holding back a lot, I will switch back to monthly. Right now content comes in waves and one month might have a lot and the rest none, so by limiting us to one or two it would be spread out so patrons don't feel compelled to buy another post in a month they weren't anticipating. Because I may or may not be writing another big mod in ๐Ÿ˜‰

SimRealist

For this reason I am unable to vote, because I think limiting releases out of care for users would be strange.

Vidde

When charging per post, the giver can set a maximum donations per month. So even if you release 3000 charged updates one month, I might only pay for the first. So I don't understand the need to limit releases. If you keep charging per month you also only get one payment so I am assuming the limit would be out of care for the users.
