A Middle Eastern dish typically composed of finely ground meat (usually lamb or beef) mixed with bulgur wheat, onions, spices, and sometimes pine nuts, which is then formed into small balls or patties, often stuffed with a flavorful filling, and cooked by frying, baking, or even served raw (known as "kibbeh nayyeh") depending on the variation; the word "kibbeh" itself comes from Arabic and means "to form into a ball.".
