Hi friends. It’s been a bit. I’m currently sitting next to my grandmother, where I’ve been for the last eight and a half hours listening to her inconsistent breathing and trying to offer her some comfort in her last hours. The nurse said she would leave us last night but she is one resilient woman and will not be told what to do. She’s 96 and has been ready for this for a while, so I didn’t think I would feel very sad, but I do. I feel quite sad. It’s heartbreaking to know I’ve already had my last conversation with her and heard her laugh for the last time. So, I’ve neglected most other things in the past couple of weeks to try to spend as much time with her as I can. I’m okay and am grateful I get to be here with her. It’s a nice reprieve to look at these pictures Carter took of me a few weeks ago, when we went for a drive into Hvalfjörður with a couple of rolls of film and goofed around for a bit. I’ll be posting the ones I took of him in a moment.
