NEW DIRECT SALE SYSTEM!

If you've read the latest posts, you'll remember that I was looking for a way to give more chances to buy YCH poses to more people. But before going into that, a little context might be needed for new supporters or anyone who would like to know more.

TL;DR: Direct Sales will be sent to smaller groups in a private link, making it easier to get a drawing; but you'll have to wait longer to get it. No other ideas were proposed on the past week, but if you have any, let me know in the comments! :)

        I started doing YCH sales because regular commissions were too slow to work on, and sometimes quite complex or hard to understand. "Your Character Here" type poses cut all the hassle and made drawing a lot more enjoyable for me, as I had control over what I wanted to draw and customers can choose what they prefer without fear of miscommunication. I could draw around 5 pieces in the same time it took 1 commission to be finished, so everybody wins!

    Eventually, YCH became so popular, they sold out in mere minutes after announcing a sale, even with 4, 6 or more poses available. I tried selling the same pose to everyone who wanted it, or at least twice, but felt like I was mass producing the same pose over and over, and it felt wrong somehow. On top of that, it multiplied my backlog of work, so I dropped that idea after some sales.

    After some months thinking about it, I decided to try out YCH Auctions, so the people who wanted the same pose could bid during a couple days, instead of needing to be online just in the small window of a direct sale. It became a matter of cash instead of luck. I was very unsure about this, as I feared people would hate it because it seems too greedy.

     As you might know by now, auctions exploded and bids reached very high, getting sometimes over $250 for a pose. This is of course great for me as an artist (thanks a lot you guys!!!), not only because of the money, but also because it means people like my drawings enough to go that far. On the other hand, it sadly makes most people unable to get a pose, being too expensive.

    I tried to balance things out by keeping Direct sales and Auctions running in turns one after the other, but that only means less people getting the chance to buy a pose. I also recently tried to sell YCH in turns (for direct sales), restricting customers from buying twice in a row, but still was hard to get a pose unless you checked your email at the exact time a Direct Sale goes on. Turns also added a layer of complexity to the whole sales, and it's kinda unfair for big supporters and recurring customers, who I believe deserve lots of love for their loyalty, and the chance to get their money's worth.

     Please consider that drawing takes time (even if I'm faster now), and your hard-earned money translates into the very time I can use to draw the sexy, cool things you desire.  That's the reason why Top-tier supporters and Auctions exist! So I hope you understand I can't just remove that and do direct sales only. 

     All this bring us to our current situation, where I'm trying to give most people a fair chance, trying to return some love to high supporters, and trying to get the much needed income. I know that can be done in a fair, happy way, so I'll be trying a new way to do Direct Sales! 

To clarify, what I'll do is draw a bunch of YCH poses and send them to a smaller group of supporters, to make it easier for them to choose one without having them sold out too quick. Then, after that group is done, the following sale will be sent to the next group, and so on. It should give almost everyone a good chance, but it will take time to cover everyone.  Also, these Direct Sales won't be public, so you won't see more announcements until your turn comes up. 

On the other hand, Auctions will still be public and open for everyone, so please don't think that I'm only doing auctions from now on. Direct Sales will be ongoing, but in private, for the reasons explained here.

 I hope this method will be fairer than before, but I need to ask for your patience and forgiveness if things don't work as intended right away.
