You know I normally don't get into the "panic awareness spreading scarebait" or whatever, but if UK bros have to either show their face and ID, or not get any hentai tiddy, that really sucks man. Especially if that might spread to everywhere eventually.

It started with sites like DLsite for Japanese games, but soon Steam, Itch.io, and Patreon were hit too. Patreon, for instance, had to comply by removing a bunch of fictional kinks. But where does it end? The ultimate goal seems to be forcing everyone to self-ID with a face reveal into an internet database, which sucks ass and it's a huge privacy threat. Some might say, "It doesn't matter if I haven't done anything bad," right? But the list of things considered "bad" by governments, banks, and payment processors keeps growing.

It began with obvious fringe and widely frowned-upon niches like lolicon and bestiality. Then it targeted hypnosis and anime with big eyes because "anime looks too young to us." Some sites, like Gumroad, have gone further, banning all NSFW art altogether. Let’s not forget: we’re talking about fictional drawings here, an important distinction.

Now, sites like rule34.xxx have restricted access from the UK to avoid complying with this invasion of privacy. This shows how it can get worse for all of us who enjoy sexy content, even if it’s just vanilla like mine.

Some argue that protecting kids from adult content is ok, and of course it is, but that should be a task for parents to protect their own children, and not for payment processors to decide on behalf of everyone. That's just a ridiculous overreach.

I don’t have much power against this, of course, but I can at least warn you and share some info. Who knows? Maybe one of you is a senator, or your cousin works at Mastercard or something 😂. In the meantime, consider saving your database of hentai, or start using smaller adult sites, just in case! Anyway, let’s hope things improve in the near future.

dang, we're gonna need some hentai lawyers up on this, somehow

I'd like to add an annoying point to this : the global ignorance about "adult stuff" and "laws". Almost everyone thinks "because it's so widely spread, porn or hentai are somehow legal, but there's grey areas". Alas, almost everyone got it VERY wrong. Law-wise, in almost all countries of the world : - porn it's completely illegal : doing it, having it, watching it. - hentai has NO specific law, it's considered as porn, and judged as such. - it's completely illegal to mix "sex" and "money" : offering or asking, selling, getting money while participating in anything involving sexual stuff (so, if you're just the doorman for a party where there's a stripper in it : you can be condemned too) or even getting a patronage of any sorts while drawing some naked character. The extent of it all is crazy, but it's NOT because "everyone does/watches it" that it is LEGAL, please understand this. And the lack of precise laws on all that is to the DETRIMENT of us all, we WILL be judged with "the closest existing laws", and they aren't looking good at all. Meaning, for example, there's no difference between drawing a furry yourself and never show it to everyone, and actually getting caught fucking the neighbours dog in the middle of the street. There's no specific law to differentiate the two. And a judge can condemn you the same for both, if they're grumpy enough. It's insane, we all agree, but legally, if you're anywhere near hentai or porn, you're in deep trouble. But because it's so widely spread, and generates a TON of money for big businesses, OF COURSE most websites try to tiptoe around it to still shipping it somehow. But yes, as soon as someone comes tickling them, BECAUSE it's completely illegal almost everywhere (and those websites or payment processes ARE responsible for allowing us to just see or share a pair of boobs), patreon, gumroad, itchio and all WILL throw everything touchy through the window to get out of big trouble quickly. Because they are risking everything. Hentai. Is. Not. Legal. Not even the most vanilla-est and softest of it all. It's. Not. Legal. So, yes, we really need to push hard against those bans, AND to make new laws so drawing a furry don't get us "perpetuity for bestiality", in ALL our countries. But you need to know on what ground you're standing. Because I've seen hentai creators convinced it's legal, and getting in more trouble because they didn't know the reality of it, and mistake their "moral right" with their "legal right".

Mattis

Credit cards are a fucking service, not a damn cartel that dictate how we spend the money we earn on things we want that doesn't violate any laws.
