Mission Debrief Remaster
Added 2017-04-01 18:24:20 +0000 UTCCaptain Amelia Watson leans on her Crowned Rook, Antilles, during a mission debriefing. In this study, I tried to capture that far-off look in her eyes as the tacticians and Admirals droned on about targets hit and the importance of ammo conservation.
I knew her well enough to know that while her body was grounded, her mind was lost in the clouds. Captain Watson was absolutely enthralled with the freedom of flying, and jumped at every chance to fly she could; she would have been one of the most decorated aviators in the Corps if she could have been persuaded to stay on the ground long enough to report her deeds. In this way, she was a perfect match for her Crowned Rook, as the breed were the champion long-distance flyers of dragons. Playful, clever, and easy-going, masters of navigating air currents and updrafts to conserve energy, and possessed of a fierce wanderlust, these dragons could stay aloft for days-- eating and even sleeping while airborne. In fact, Antilles was so-named because he once flew from Gibraltar to the island chain without claw touching ground.
In other news, I have decided that from now on, I will ONLY be re-doing artwork I have already done. I hope you guys like what I've done so far, because you'll be seeing endless versions of the same thing, as I constantly decide that the drawings I loved a few months ago now look like ass, and need to be fixed.
