Small Update + some of my fav houseplants!!

     Hi patrons, long time no see! I really haven't been accomplishing much - either shop-wise or art-wise - over the past several weeks, so I haven't had much to share. I've been in kind of a slump as far as making art goes, but I know it's temporary and I am excited to get back to making new stuff. As far as shop progress goes, I haven't really done anything since my last update, which was when I was working on making batches of prints.

     Something I have been spending a lot of my time invested in, though, is houseplants!! I've been really wanting to share a lot of my houseplants online, but I'm waiting until I slow down buying them/organizing how I want to set them up around the apartment before I do an actual "tour" on my channel, so for the time being I'll share some of my favorites with you all!😂 

     I have really only been into houseplants for the past month or two, so my knowledge isn't the best! I'm still constantly learning about them, but I've had such a fun time shopping for plants and filling our apartment with them. 

     The plant on the right is one of my favorites! It's a philodendron cordatum, or heart-leafed philodendron, and I love her so much,, it was my first trailing plant, and it's easily one of my fastest growers!! I've had it for just about a month and it's already put out a ton of new leaves. She's beautiful :')

     Another one of my favorite plants is this aBSOLUTELY GORGEOUS variegated maranta/prayer plant!! It came with 2 different plants in a nursery pot, and I later discovered only one of those plants is variegated, but I really wanted this plant and was so happy to find it at a nursery. 

     I think prayer plants as a whole are super super cool, because throughout the day their leaves move an insane amount!! They're so pretty and I am looking forward to getting more of these guys in different varieties!! This plant has also been super happy where it is, and is constantly pushing out new growth for me! Right now there's 4 new leaves coming out 😭💖

     These guys here are some of my first plants I purchased. I think pilea peperomioides (right) are absolutely gorgeous, so I was so happy to find one so quickly!! It lost a lot of leaves when I repotted it but it's already put out 2 babies for me (which I've propagated now!) and I'm excited to see it get bigger. On the left is another maranta! This one is a different variety, and while I like my variegated one more, this guy is still one of my favorites.

     The last plant I wanna share with you guys is the newest one to my collection - an alocasia black velvet! I'm personally not super interested in a lot of different kinds of alocasias, but this plant is so gorgeous and the pictures don't do it justice. 

     The leaves are such a beautiful and rich, dark color in person, and they have such a nice and velvety texture! I think this is my first "rare" plant that I own, as well, and I'm v happy to have it in my collection!! 

     I don't know if any of you guys are into houseplants yourselves, but I've really gotten into the hobby (I have 20+ plants now 😂) and I'd highly recommend becoming a plant parent to anyone. They're so fun to take care of and check in on to see new growth :') 

     Sorry I don't have much art-related stuff to share! I plan on kicking my butt in gear with working more on opening a shop between March and April (it'll probably be a few more months before it's officially open, though!). I'll be using a good portion of the earnings I'll get for next month's Patreon rewards to purchase shipping supplies for things I'll be selling in my shop! From there, I will work on photographing products and making listings on my website.

     I'm sure I still have a lot of time that I need to invest into BTS things, but I'm getting closer and closer to opening a storefront!!
