An interesting thing when drawing recurring characters is my improvement as an artist. I think if you compare my art in this issue to the same characters in Jackanapes #1, you’ll find quite a difference. And yet, I have to keep some continuity in how the character is drawn. I think Bill Watterson managed this well in Calvin & Hobbes, where you can tell he advanced quite a bit, but the characters were still recognizably themselves.
