At the end of last month, my boyfriend and I last minute went to a reptile expo just to have a fun little date where we can see a bunch of little guys,,, and,,,,, the looking ended up turning into a very impulsive decision to get a leopard gecko -- and here she is!!! CORNBREAD!!! She is a 4.5 month old leopard gecko and she is BABY as hell. She's super super small (I only learned that fully grown leos are 7-10 inches long a few months ago) and has been such a treat to have,, I've never had a reptile before and I've also been itching for a small animal for a long time, so getting her has been a really fun experience :') <3
She's still getting used to both me and her environment, but in the past several days she's made a lot of progress in being handled and being out and about with me near her terrarium! I was a little nervous about how the cats would react to her, but so far Beans has been the only one to show interest and he's been VERY very polite (I am,, so proud of him). I don't know if Aslan and Fiora are indifferent to whatever is going on or they just... haven't realized there's a little lady in the tank? Either way they couldn't care less. Beans, on the other hand, is VERY interested in her. On the second or third day of having her, he finally realized she existed and kept jumping onto her terrarium to watch her which was... not what I wanted to be happening. After a couple times of me taking him off of her space, he came up with a secondary way to watch her which has been so polite and good for all of us. This is now what he does:

He just.... sits on top of the fridge and watches her from a distance. I am so proud of him for being so respectful and not tormenting Cornbread,, she's pretty low maintenance and an easy pet so it's been really easy to adjust to having her on my end too!! I will share more pictures of her as she gets bigger and I'm also able to handle her more (esp so I can take photos in natural light) so we get to watch this little lady grow up together!!
