Coming In February— Japes Art and Animation

I’ve been doing this Patreon for more than three years now and I am very humbled and grateful for the support I’ve received from all of my supporters, both past and present. Some of you have been here since the beginning, when this was a page to support the creation of my Bombshells book. Some of you just joined yesterday. Beyond the financial support, I’m amazed that over a hundred of you enjoy my art enough to pay for it. I’m a big believer in the idea that you truly value what you pay for, and vice-versa, so... thank you. Like I said—amazing.

At the same time, I’ve caught myself thinking more and more about going on a hiatus. And that’s a dangerous place for an artist like me to be. Art isn’t my day job, so hunger and rent aren’t gonna drive me. The yen to improve and the wish for more spending cash would be the only thing keeping my output up, and that makes this feel like a treadmill. And I can’t stand running on treadmills for long— I need a frisbee to chase after.

So, beginning in February, I’m stepping off the fan art pin-ups treadmill, and starting to chase the hand-drawn animation frisbee. At the end of the day, I think I’m an above-average lewd artist, but my improvement is starting to plateau and will always be limited by my attention span and time. But looking around at the lewd animation out there? I think I could be the best at what I do, and I don’t think there will be any/many doing anything like it.

So what will I do? Hand-drawn, Disney-esque, expressive animation clips and shorts. Not cheap flash animation or morphs with just one or 2 moving elements, but expressively, fluidly animated lewd acts with changing facial expressions. I’m gonna try and practice and master actual animation techniques (like squash and stretch) rather than rely on software trickery, so that my short animations have character. Because character is sexy.

So, I will insist on my animation being quality, at the expense (if need be) of it being done quickly. I have no idea how long it’s gonna take to do 5 seconds of animation (100 drawings), so until I do, I’m not gonna promise any fan art, neither poll-winners nor high-tier perks. And animation will be ready when it’s ready, I’m not gonna commit to a new animation a month or anything, though works in progress will be plentiful. I have some ideas for new rewards, but some tiers may be streamlined away...

TL;DR

What’s coming in February? Brief hand-drawn sexy animations. Think something like the above Jasmine gif, but lewd, and a bit longer, (and eventually, exclusively on my Patreon, in color). The first animation will be of Rosie, above, from Jackanapes, having a fun, sexy time. I will eventually edit shorter clips into longer shorts, add voice acting and sound, etc for higher tiers, depending on level of support. Some animations will be fan art, some will be my original characters like Rosie.

What’s leaving at the end of January? Fan art polls. Monthly pinups and sketches for higher-tier supporters. THIS MONTH’S POLL IS THE LAST POLL!

What’s staying? JACKANAPES! Still 2 pages a month. I love those guys, and the story’s not done yet. Jackanapes Art! Works in progress! Commission slots! My sparkling personality!

I know a lot of you will miss the fan art, and some of you will leave when I stop doing the pinups. Please know this change is not because I don’t care about your opinion or support.
