Call for Nominations— Afternoon Cartoon Poon
Added 2019-07-14 16:49:30 +0000 UTCKids today are so spoiled— with their streaming and their internets, they can watch whatever they want, whenever they want. In my day, if we wanted to watch cartoons, we had to wait for a particular day, at a particular time, and hope that it was one you hadn’t seen 32 billion times already. Plus, you had to watch commercials interrupting the shows that were in fact, 22 minute-long commercials themselves.
This month’s poll is a throwback to the time before streaming, when you had to race through your homework to catch a cartoon you liked. Please pick a female character from a show that aired on network or cable TV in the 80’s or 90’s. Remember Gargoyles, that sexy detective or Demona? Any of the females from Batman TAS? Animated X-men? GI Joe? The Disney Afternoon? Anybody remember Cadillacs and Dinosaurs?

I see I'm too late. Anyway... I'd rather have Jane, but between those two you mention... Kim... But then again, you've already done both of them before, so Roxanne is an ok poll option.

2019-07-14 18:15:06 +0000 UTCHm... Linear TV cartoon was still dominant until til mid-late 2000s tbh, and as a kid born in 93, I don't remember much of the 80s and 90s shows. I remember April O'Neil from the original TMNT... Daisy from Quack Pack... But they don't really do anything for me... Neither does the Scooby-Doo girls or the dog people in the Goofy stuff... I'm not into animal/human hybrids. Although that neighbor girl, Roxanne, is kinda hot... And Lola Bunny is the closets thing to ever make me a furry. My two actual favorites would be Kim Possible and Jane Porter ❤️ (there was a Tarzan show, 2001), but you've already done them (Although I'd prefer white tank and brown skirt, hair down Jane). The Totally Spies chicks come to mind.. Anyway... if the cutoff point is the year 2000, then I guess I'd have to nominate Roxanne from Gooftroop, even though I rarely watched it. If the early-mid 2000s are OK then white tank top, hair down, Jane Porter.
