One of the things I hope, as a writer, is that people realize that I will be deliberate in picking up threads that maybe you thought were pointless blind alleys before. For instance, here’s Gilberd the Bitcher again, from way back in Jackanapes II, Page 11. He’s one of the few competent characters in the saga, if you recall him warning Japes that the “Beast with 2 backs“ wouldn’t be interested in Daphne. You’ll be seeing more of him, too.
I’m also trying to set up some real intrigue and stakes for our heroes, besides “getting some.”
