Why is there a talking duck? As always with Mr. Ekho, he’s given away only by the color of the word balloon. Why a duck, specifically? Go back to page 9.
It honestly started as a very small throw-away joke to convey that Daphne was running away from some fighting while keeping the visual focus on her. But then I was having trouble figuring out what form the mimic should take when he showed up again. He was last mentioned being a horse-size duck, so voila!
