Perhaps the Gorgon sisters: Medusa, Stheno, and Euryale (pretty sure they are in the public domain, assuming their creator's copyright has expired) might present good opportunities for good times and good laughs. Witty banter, sibling rivalry, making our protagonists "rock hard", etc.
