Kakudate Karin - November 2023's Reward

Look like I made it in time. I still need to export files, make the banner and upload the file. But It's already midnight here ( again ) and I am very tired after a long day working in order to keep the promise with you guys to have this piece done today so... I will send the reward tomorrow after I am done with those final edits. I am afraid that with my current exhausted state I will make grave mistakes and send wrong files so it's best to leave the arrangement work tomorrow and get some sleep.

As I said in a previous post, I tried a new palette color for dark skin and had some problems but luckily it turned out well. The background for this angle is troublesome as well. With a simple background you can do whatever you want, no problem. But once you try to draw a hyper angle pose with proper background, some strict measure is necessary. Beside the biggest problem is still the ideas, you have very limited choice for this angle. Beside the ceiling which is pretty boring, the sky is another option but it's too empty, trying to draw a city will kill this month's deadline seriously so ... I tried to draw something interesting  like a ship's mast.

To be honest, most of the time I don't know what to draw next with this idea but well, the result is here so It still looks cool I guess haha. At least, the angle is right on this piece which makes it look better than pieces I made in the past.

Anyway, I hope you guys will like it ! I will send the reward tomorrow so you can enjoy it as soon as possible.

Thank you for supporting me !

Now I seriously need some sleep ...

You are so right bro T.T Blue Archive's design is so bland but it's also pretty good. I always find a way to make it look the best so you know my pain. ( not that I regret to do that ) I will try more Bunny Archive in future. The fun will not end here ( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°)

Thank you for such a compliment ! The biggest problem with this piece is the idea for the background. The overcast weather matches her skin. I tried to put her in a darker concept but it is just too hard to balance the light system so here you go ! Drawing clouds is one of my worst weaknesses though. I am still trying to learn how to color it properly ! Well, looks like there is no problem with this piece so haha. Nailed it ! Thank you for suggesting ideas. Marine with ships can strike some new ideas for me but I won't say for sure I will do it. As I always say, when the ideas come, I will totally make it ! I will consider this but don't put your hope up. Hm.. interesting.

She looks amazing! Karin's design is very prettyband I think you did a fantaistic job replicating her beauty. You nailed eveything: Her hair, skin, and outfit. It all came out perfect! I think you did a great job with the background despite the trouble you had. Very detailed and atmospheric. Please rest and take it easy! I'm really excited for the illustration set. Stay safe and good luck!

This is seriously beautiful. The angle is a really interesting one, and I can see how it would cause you problems, but you came up with a perfect solution to shake things up without murdering yourself or the deadline. Karin herself looks beautiful. I like how the angle emphasizes her curves from below and behind, the eye is drawn from the bottom to the top, both by her butt and back and by the mast in the background. Long black hair returns! Large and long pony tails are cute, and I like how you split it over her shoulder, it gives her hair more volume and depth and it frames her cute expression very well too. I like the touch with the silver plate as well. I also appreciate the detail in her fishnets and the lacing on her back. The overcast sky looks great and contrasts her well. Between the clouds, the birds, and the wood and rigging of the ship, you fill in the sky and contrast her well without needing to fill it in with a city skyline or a night sky. The white sail also helps your clouds pop, since they're both white and grey, you can emphasize the texture of the clouds against the smoothness of the sail. And the hints of plant life, powerlines, and other parts of the ship and other things closer to the ground help ground the angle and open up the sky. I really love the composition and perspective in this piece. If you want to play more with ships, I could see you drawing Marine or Beidou or some other pirate character at sea. What if you tried a piece like this with a downward angle instead of an upward one? You could put the character at the top of the crow's nest and look down on them as they peer up at the sky, and the background could be the bottom of the ship and blue of the ocean waves? That'd definitely be a new angle, albeit a challenging one. Or, for a more straightforward angle, you could do it from the side and show the horizon line where the sky meets the sea over the side of the ship. You actually drew Marine in an angle similar to what I was thinking in March, with her sitting on a wall overlooking a beautiful river and a town below. I could see a piece like that, but on a ship. Maybe the pirate character is leaning against the side of the ship next to a cannon or something, looking at the horizon, like a pirate. Anyway those were just some ideas I had inspired by this piece. It really is interesting, I love it. Thank you again for your hard work. Please sleep well! I can tell how much work you put in and you deserve the rest.
