Frosted Over (Jane Version)
Added 2025-09-08 12:30:02 +0000 UTCJane watches on, taking in your hard exhale that leaves behind a faint puff of white and the flex of your body when you've decided to change course after Alina mouths off. Her sister pounced on baiting you into a race after you had just performed dizzying spins. Hopefully, it ends sportingly.

[Alternate Text: An image of an empty professional ice skating rink that's beautifully lit by floodlights. The ice is frosted over in some places as well as appearing a glowing blue.]
Jane is absolutely mesmerized.
Her hands have come to rest on the rink's chilled railing, offering support while her posture is subtly tilted inwards so she's up against the waist high barrier. It isn't so much a lean as it is an obstacle holding her back. Most townsfolk are either out on the ice or camped out in the warmer bleachers. Their Detective has yet to take a seat once you put on your skates and...

Platonic jealousy feels so much more complicated than when it's romantic. The little stings over all the things they didn't get to experience together, even though they always wished the other to be happy at the same time. I can't help but focus on J thinking Fernweh isn't good enough for the RV. They believe the RV deserves everything the world has to offer instead of being stuck in a small town where the townsfolk still treat them as an oddity. Always so much more concerned about the RV than what they want. I really enjoyed A's pep talk, especially with them having an antagonistic relationship with the RV here. Their siblings' happiness is always more important than any petty grievances they have. π Canon Felix behavior all around. Sometimes I think half the reason she ended up as reckless as she is because she always enjoyed Jane fussing over her. π

2025-09-08 23:40:14 +0000 UTCI'm gonna start with the heavy hitters here before I move on to the sweeter portions. J hasn't been on the rink since her *entire family* went years and years ago. Aelsa I'm staring at you ποΈποΈ these eyeballs are for you. "Frosted Over" as the title! Like J's hands holding that cold rail, like J's heart before the RV's return. I'm smiling, I think we're getting somewhere in this slow burn. J says that Fernweh isn't good enough for the RV, not that she isn't right for the RV. The way that Josh immediately wraps his arms around Jane when she puts her arm around him, SPEAK TO ME J, how are you feeling!!! I can feel J's controlled envy/longing/lingering bitterness over the memories that B and Josh made in the years that passed. The years that J missed, that they want to learn about again. And they're learning together, meeting each other as adults. π₯² (what we didn't do-what I thought we would- J CRUSH J CRUSH J CRUSH. HER HOPES AND DREAMS.) How easy it is for J to lose themselves in Josh π₯°πFrom "are you cold" (forgotten) to a gentle cheek touch. The second J reaches out, it's all over for them!!! π«΅ Frenemy A remains the best, the banter *and* not letting their sister off the hook! HMMM, someone asked THREE times how to get J on the ice πππ Subtlety is dead. By the way, ending on the opener - I love the way the RV's athleticism and ice skating is described! The way you described the fluid motion of the skating is superb, no wonder J can't stop staring.
