F&C - Chapter 15

Ch15 - Thought to Reality

***

"Our profits are a little low this quarter..."

"I have a few ideas that, if implemented, would let us...!"

"Ahem. Mr. Enokawa?"

Eto Enokawa let out an inaudible sigh, fighting the urge to roll his eyes.

"I'm listening."

His rise to CEO had been simple. Eto had been the eldest son, and after learning what was to be expected of him, he put in the work. He then spent decades of his life learning everything he possibly could about running a company, and he even had a Master's in both Business Analytics and Economics to show for it.

And since none of his brothers had thrown their hat in the ring, when his father finally stepped down, Eto had immediately taken over.

It had been clear cut, with not even a hint of drama.

But... 'Where did I go wrong?'

Preparing his entire life to be the head of a conglomerate, all to know the inner workings of the business world, of high society... it had not prepared him to be a father. None of his kids were accidents, but he only had kids because, well, he was an Enokawa. It was his responsibility to continue the Enokawa legacy, and while that mostly meant keeping Enocorp from crashing and burning, it also meant having a heir of his own.

His wife, Takumi, had done a great job. She truly had. But it was only after she passed that he realized, while his sons were fine young men, they didn't have that knack for business.

And the only one that did... was Ichiharu.

Eto was willing to admit it– his youngest son, Ichiharu, was smarter than him. The boy had always been clever, and he worked even harder than Eto had. Then there was the fact that they both had the same Quirk, Energize, letting them build up energy and use it to temporarily enhance themselves... but Ichiharu's version was more diverse, letting his son pick and choose what aspects he wanted to enhance. Aspects like intelligence.

On top of that, Ichiharu wanted to be the heir.

But no one was perfect.

His son wasn't bad, not by any means... but all he wanted was to be the heir. Eto might've only had a family because it was part of his duty as an Enokawa, but that didn't mean he hadn't spent time with his boys growing up. Taking them to the park, playing with them, showing up for their school events...

Eto Enokawa had done all of that and more, at least when he had the time.

So when he found out how Ichiharu was treating his grandson, keeping the boy off to the side as he focused on the company, Eto had wanted to slap him.

But what was he even supposed to say?

Eto had been the one to put Ichiharu to the 'test,' so to speak. Ichiharu wasn't going to be the heir unless he proved himself capable... so his son had done just that, working non-stop, using everything at his disposal to cement his position in the company.

"Make use of what you can, the best way that you can."

Eto had lost track of the amount of times that he had heard his father tell him that. It eventually occurred to him that this wasn't just a saying, but a family motto. A phrase to be passed down from father to son. And much to his chagrin, Ichiharu embodied it in its entirety. He resembled it so much, in fact, that he was willing to use his own wife and son for personal gain.

Even if the arrangement with the Intelli Family was solid, Eto didn't like it.

And when he hadn't even seen his own grandson more than once, that being a couple days after little Yoshiki was born– he didn't have the right.

Eto was getting old, he knew that. But to think he'd be making mistakes like this... to think that he'd fail his own grandson before he even properly met him.

And then there was their meeting.

---Flashback---

At first, Eto had been furious. Gekka and Ryu had worked for Enokawa for a while now, but to find out that they had abandoned their posts, and were right outside his office... while it had pissed him off immensely, he had decided to give them the benefit of the doubt. But when they entered his office with a masked, unidentified assailant, Eto had activated his Quirk.

The the man of a rather short stature had removed his mask.

"Hello, grandpa!"

It was his grandson, Yoshiki.

If Eto was honest, his brain had stalled there for a bit. Who would ever expect their grandson to show up at his office unannounced, in the middle of the night, at only 6 years old? Before he could recover, though, Yoshiki had used his Quirk, Lightcraft, to seal the entire room in a pitch black darkness, even going as far to encase both Gekka and Ryu.

Silence.

So quiet that he could hear his own heartbeat.

"Grandpa," Yoshiki told him, "make sure that this doesn't leave this room, okay?"

As for what exactly 'this' was...

His grandson told him about his Quirk. About how at first, he had been able to manipulate the light around him... because his mother had told him that his Quirk might be just that. Light manipulation. How it took him a long while to realize that no, that wasn't his Quirk. At least not in its entirety.

His Quirk was light manipulation because he THOUGHT it was light manipulation.

Yoshiki's true Quirk was Thought to Reality. Whatever his grandson thought that he was capable of, he WAS capable of. It was hard to believe at first, but... when Yoshiki could manipulate light, sense emotions, create fire and more, Eto could only accept it. There were most certainly restrictions to it, but his grandson hadn't revealed them.

Smart boy.

Then Yoshiki made him an offer. His grandson told him straight up that he "couldn't care less about Enocorp," but Yoshiki did care for money and connections. His grandson wanted to use his grandpa to become a model, than an actor, and then pivot that fame into heroism.

"Why not be the Enocorp's next CEO?" Eto had asked.

After a single conversation with the boy, Eto just sort of knew. Yoshiki Enokawa was going to be far more capable than his father, as well as his grandfather for that matter.

"Grandpa," Yoshiki had asked him, "let me ask you this– if you, Mrs. Intelli, Mrs. Yaoyorozu, David Shields, and even the Prime Minister of Japan himself, were to all go on to live television together, and then tell the world that 'it's okay to be Quirkless,' what would happen?"

It hadn't taken Eto very long to figure it out. But knowing about Yoshiki's friend, Izumi, as well as her Quirkless status, he had hesitated to actually say it.

Then Yoshiki asked him yet another question.

"Now, if All Might had said that... what would happen then?"

Eto stilled.

"The man who can change the weather with a single punch, the Symbol of Peace. The gentle giant has yet to use it even once, so very few people realize... but All Might has a terrifying amount of control over public perception," Yoshiki trailed off, his golden eyes twinkling brightly against the absolute darkness of his manifested room.

"And that just isn't something that Enocorp can offer me, I'm afraid."

"...At least not directly," Eto continued after a pause.

The smile Yoshiki had offered after that very nearly made him shudder.

With all that in mind, Eto decided to play along. He already felt like he owed the boy, so he saw no reason not to help. Eto arranged an informal meeting with Ichiharu's family just a few days later, publicly offering his grandson a proposal. A modeling contract. His grandson's rise to stardom had been quite surprising, but knowing the true nature of Yoshiki's Quirk, Eto wouldn't put it past the boy to be using it to make himself more famous, somehow.

Thought to Reality... what a terrifying Quirk.

Yoshiki was going to be one hell of an Enokawa.

---End Flashback---

"Your grandson, now dubbed 'Shiki-kun,' has made quite the name for himself," his advisor continued, and Eto immediately narrowed his eyes. "If we could use–"

"Don't ask me that again, not if you want to keep your job," Eto growled.

"U-Uh, yes sir. Sorry sir."

Letting out yet another sigh, Eto slumped back into his chair. He'd have to step down sooner or later, he knew that. And even though Enocorp would be more than fine with Ichiharu at the helm, Eto Enokawa couldn't help but wonder how much their company would flourish if it was left in his grandson's hands.

'I wonder what Yoshiki's up to now...'

***

It had been a battle of wills. A battle of strength, vitality, and endurance. It was by far the hardest fight Yoshiki has ever fought...

But he had prevailed.

After conquering Hikari, Emika, Erika, Masaki, and Sayuki– conquering all of his aunties, as well as his grandmother– he could tell. With full control of their minds, bodies and souls, Yoshiki knew that he had successfully impregnated every single one of them. And much to his amusement, both Emika and Erika would be having twins, and all seven of his unborn children were going to be female.

'Seven daughters...'

Yoshiki hadn't seriously considered becoming a dad, not until now. In an attempt to alleviate his worries, his aunties had told him that they could take care of themselves. That he should continue living his life how he wanted, and not let them hold him down. But... he wanted to be apart of his daughter's lives.

Yoshiki didn't want to be like his father. Either of his fathers, for that matter.

No, he was going to be the best dad ever.

"Feeling better?" his mother asked him as she rustled his hair.

"Yeah," he replied, smiling slightly. "Thanks, Fumi."

"I know you're worried," she soothed, blushing slightly, "and you have every right to be, with the Quirk Thief, the MLA, and the HPSC... but I don't like seeing you so stressed, either."

With their bond, he could feel Fumika's feelings on the matter. The whole 'birthday party' with his aunties had been to help get his mind off of things, and it had done exactly that. He was still worried, of course, but his mother was right. Just because Yoshiki had battles to be fought in the future  didn't mean he couldn't enjoy the present.

"So... did you pick out a maid yet?" Fumika asked, leaking off a little bit of lust.

Yoshiki rolled his eyes. He couldn't've asked for a better mother.

'But a maid, huh?'

He had honestly been at a loss.

The otaku that he was, he could hardly wait to take every 'waifu' he could find, seduce her, and then fuck her into a mewling mess, like he had done with Inko. Like he was going to continue doing to Inko. But much to his chagrin, this was a world of heroes, which meant that very few of those 'waifus' would be willing to fuck someone of his... stature.

Even when taking both Impulsive and Mutual Attraction into account.

Sure, Yoshiki could just use Conquer on every woman that happens to catch his eye, but that would just be... so... boring. He'd much rather play with his food, at least for a bit. And since Yoshiki now had both Inko and Fumika, as well as half of his family tree, he really wasn't hurting for women at the moment.

But just a few days prior, one of his many, many targets had triggered his Alert.

[ Manami Aiba. Anxious, Flustered, Obsessive. Thinking about you. ]

This hadn't quite been his original intention when he debuted as 'Shiki-kun,' but Yoshiki wasn't one to look a gift horse in the mouth.
