References for Steph's Flamituff gijinka. I feel like this study shows that she needs much more exaggerated ears so that it looks less like a Halloween costume and more like a cosplay. The pinpoint ears on the other Pikachu cosplayer are atrocious, but the rest of her outfit is surprisingly spot on for me to find just from random gijinka searches:
In my head, I think Brian's Lance cosplay was always based on the SeeD cadet/Dollet exam uniform from FF8:
Chloe's Magical Doll outfit was always a direct reference to Sailor Moon, but with a bit of the Nui haughtiness from Kill la Kill (not the best pic of cosplay mega drills, but I'm working on it).
Brian's Darkmask/Skullfie soldier outfit has always been a reference to the Jacky soldiers from Jackall in Ratman. In my descriptions I think the only real difference is the color of the briefs and adding utility belt pouches. Otherwise, it's 110% this:

Emily's Akane Kurokawa is something of a mashup between skimpy yukata and sexy Anko from Naruto:

Probably the unabashed full cleavage that Akane is supposed to have. The second cosplayer is Anko from Naruto. I read the manga, never had a taste for the anime.
