In honour of the release of the 2022 Pinocchio remake the first part of Septembers (slightly delayed) 2 part model is Geppetto's adorable little water baby, Cleo! complete with fully printable fishbowl! You will need a few extra materials to print and complete the entire model, the list is included below, but for those who just want to print Cleo herself I've modeled a stand that you can attach her to with some superglue. I printed the stem for the stand at 30MM/S with supports on and a brim enabled, I also changed the support overhang to 35. The base and stem are printed in 2 parts and placement photos are below.

Cleo printed without any issues in resin, but sadly her eyelashes didn't survive on FDM, you may have more success if you try printing with tree supports enabled, or failing that you could change the nozzel size to a smaller one and slow the speed right down to around 25 MM/S, however this will add literal days onto the print so its not usually recommended. Regardless, the eyelashes did leave a nice outline behind, which made it quite easy to add them in during the painting process.

I have included the fishbowl for those who want to print the entire model, however I personally wasn't happy with the level of transparency of the printed resin as I wanted a crystal clear appearance in order to fully show off Cleo herself, so having printed it a few times I opted to purchase the fishbowl off Amazon instead. It costs about 7 GBP, its perfectly see through and despite the delivery time being estimated at 1 month it arrived in about 2 weeks. I also modeled and printed a rim for the top of the bowl in transparent resin which I have decorated with a few patterns to tie in with the ornamental models. In order to achieve the glass like appearance, once cured I dipped the pieces in floor varnish, waited for it to fully dry which took about 24 hours and then removed the excess varnish leftover in the crevices with a sharp blade.

The signature wooden carved base for the fishbowl was printed in wooden PLA and was honestly one of the most satisfying prints I've ever worked on! everything from the initial support removal, to then sanding, varnishing, sanding again and finally painting with a light coat of bronze really made this such a relaxing and fun mini project! the layer lines also really add to the wooden grain appearance, but if you don't want the added expense then regular PLA will work just fine in its place.

In order to suspend Cleo in the tank I'm using a couple of methods. I used invisible string attached with hot glue for the turnaround photos above, and I'm also in the process of completing a resin pour to permanently fix my ornamental variant in place in the tank, photos will be out on Monday with a full tutorial so be sure to check back in!

Any questions or issues please drop me a message, I'll be happy to help. Stick around for the ornamental variants to come later today! and don't forget to check back this Friday when Figaro will be making his appearance!
